Have You Seen Him?

It is a cold, rainy day, and Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, Baljeet, and I are watching a little TV, each of us drinking hot cocoas that Phineas and Ferb's mom made for us. We get so bored, that we fall asleep. We wake up to the sound of Phineas giggling and a creature panting. In front of Phineas is a little yellow dog licking and nipping at him. Baljeet gasps, absolutely disgusted and horrified at what he sees.

"How the heck did this dog get inside?" he asked.

"Yeah, how did this little guy get here?" asked Isabella.

"Maybe he dug under our fence. I think there was a hole, there." said Phineas, "Plus our door was a little open."

"Haha I think he likes me!" he laughed, as the dog continues to lick his face and arms.

"Be careful, Phineas!" Baljeet cried, "You don't know where that dog's mouth has been!"

"Oh relax, Baljeet." I said, proceeding to pet the dog, "He's not going to hurt you."

"I don't see a collar on him." said Isabella, "I think he could be a stray dog."

"Even more reason to be careful!" said Baljeet, "He could have fleas, ticks, and who knows what else!"

"Still, he's so adorable!" I said, rubbing the dog's belly.

"Yes, I agree he is quite a charming canine, but we should take him to the vet." said Ferb in his adorable British accent.

The five of us go to Phineas and Ferb's mom, who is about to leave for a little while, as usual. When she sees us with the dog, she is surprised.

"Where in the world did this dog come from?"

"We're not sure, Mom." replied Phineas, "We think he might be a stray since he's got no collar on. Can you take us to the vet to have him checked out?"

"Sure, Phineas." she answered.

All five of us get into the car with the yellow dog and Phineas and Ferb's mom drives us to the vet, where the doctor checks out the dog, making sure it isn't sick or anything.

"Well, it appears he is perfectly healthy. He does not have any fleas, ticks, or any other parasite, and he doesn't seem to have any disease." the vet said.

"Oh thank goodness!" said Baljeet, sighing from relief.

"However, he is not micro chipped. I think he could indeed be a stray. Still, I would recommend you try to find his owner or contact your local shelter." the vet continued.

"Thank you, doctor." said Phineas, "Guys, I think I know what we're gonna do today."

With that, we make and post "lost and found" flyers everywhere to find the dog's owner, that is, if he actually he has one. We also wait for phone calls from people who know this dog, but we don't get any. Eventually, we figure that the dog has no owner, so the other option left was to put him in a dog shelter. We want to keep him, but unfortunately, we know we cannot. Obviously, Phineas and Ferb already have their pet platypus, Perry, and Candace does not seem to want another animal in the house to clean up after. Also, Baljeet's parents are probably strict like mine, who would not let me bring pets into the house. So, Phineas contacts multiple shelters to place our little friend in.

"Hello?" he said on the phone, "We have a dog that might be a stray. Can't find an owner. Do you have any room for him? No? Okay."

"Hello?" he continued, "No room? Okay. Bye."

This would go on and on for a little while. At times, someone asks Phineas if he's too young to be contacting shelters, and of course, he would answer "Yes. Yes I am." Eventually, Phineas finds one shelter that does have space for an extra dog. We are sad that the dog has to go now, but at the same time, we are hopeful he will find a good home.

"If you love someone, you have to set them free." said Ferb, as two men in uniforms crate our little friend and take him to the shelter.
