Forgotten Past: Prologue
Long ago, in the darkest part of the woods, lived a 9-tailed kitsune with his family of 10. Now this family in particular was very special. The father was no ordinary animal. Having 10 tails, all animals would cower in fear before him. The mother was the most beautiful creature and was envied by all. Their first child, oldest brother, however, was an ordinary looking raccoon, but had a glare that would make you go stone cold and unimaginable strength. The family soon grew more special as new children were born. 2-tailed, 3-tailed, 4-tailed, and so on, they were all special in their own way. All was perfect, until the birth of the 9-tailed. The mother, tired after bearing so many children, soon grew ill and the upcoming birth did not help. Unable to hold any longer, then mother died at childbirth. No one blamed the youngling for the death, but her presence was greatly missed. Time slowly moved on, but gradually life started to become normal for the family. Filling his days with nothing but happiness, the kitsune enjoyed his peaceful life. One day, while playing with his siblings, the kitsune wandered away from home, eventually becoming lost. Desperately trying to find his way back, the kitsune stumbled upon a small village. Transforming himself as a young boy, the kitsune entered the village, full of curiosity. Inside the village, there were many humans walking about, taking time to greet the kitsune. Spotting a group of children, the kitsune eagerly joined them, immediately making new friends. Throughout the day, the kitsune learned many new things and quickly began to love Konoha. Not wanting to leave, the kitsune would ask his new friends each day if he could stay for night. The kitsune soon became accustomed to his human body and slowly forgot his old life. However, he would vaguely remember his family and at the end of the day, he would be left alone in the park to cry. One day as he was crying, the boy felt a tap on his shoulder. Looking up, he saw a human adult with spiky blond hair and blue eyes, his appearance similar to the kitsune. The adult asked him why he was crying and the boy replied, no longer felling sad. With a flashy grin, the man suggested that the boy should meet his own family. A few days later, the boy was seen happily walking down the street, holding hands with his new family. The man, Minato, and his wife, Kushina, were unable to have their own children and decided to adopt the boy, naming him "Naruto". As Naruto grew up, he began to go to school in order to become a ninja of the hidden leaf village. Time past and the Third Hokage retired, letting Minato take his place as Fourth Hokage. Now forgetting completely about his past, Naruto made it his life-long goal to become a greater Hokage than his father. Assigned to Team 7, Naruto learned from Kakashi-sensei, became best friends/rivals with Sasuke Uchiha and fell in love with Sakura Haru. As the team completed missions with ease, Minato decided it was time to challenge them…
