I do not own Doctor Who. If I did, Capt. Jack would be in every single episode. With no clothes ;)
Amy was in search of the swimming pool. It had become a fascination of sorts for her, ever since the Doctor had mentioned it the night they met. She had looked for it before, but today she was determined to find it.
She had left Rory and the Doctor in the console room, and smirked smugly as she caught snippets of their conversation. 'You mean they've got no arms? Or noses?' She was glad the boys were getting along. Her boys. She and Rory had been married for exactly three weeks and had already been to twelve different planets. She could travel forever with the Doctor. Just like this.
She traveled deeper and deeper into the TARDIS, opening doors, scowling at the ones that were locked and making mental notes to get the Doctor to open them for her. She turned down another corridor and came upon a door marked simply, 'Wardrobe.' Curious, Amy turned the knob and swung open the door.
It was a two story room, filled to the brim with clothes. Clothes from every era of Earth, from far off planets. To Amy's surprise, it was neatly organized which she suspected was the TARDIS's doing. She wandered through the wardrobe, reveling in the 18th century garb from her own world, the mist colored dress that felt like clouds, giving into her guilty pleasure and trying on ten different pairs of shoes. She was about to try on her eleventh pair when she noticed an old black trunk in the corner.
She knelt before it and unlatched the lid. It lifted slowly, revealing an array of clothes, eclectic in taste. Sweaters, shoes, hats. They too, were all labeled. Amy reached in and grabbed a sweater. It was charcoal gray and soft to the touch. She checked the label 'Ian Chesterson.' She had never heard the name before.
There were other names along with the clothes. A dress, with the name Sarah-Jane Smith. A pair of shoes that belonged to an Ace. Leather pants that belonged to a Captain Jack Harkness.
It was when she pulled out a jean jacket with the label that read simply, 'Rose,' that Amy understood what the trunk was.
The Doctor had told her the story of Rose Tyler, the Bad Wolf, exactly one week ago, when they were trapped on an alien planet and Amy thought Rory was going to die. The Doctor told her of the man he had been, one so transformed by war and blood. He told her of the girl who had changed him, who had taught him compassion. He told Amy Pond, the girl who waited, of Rose Tyler, the girl he left behind, but never forgot.
The trunk was full of the Doctor's companions things. Amy noted that River's name was not among the clothes. As she folded up the jacket and placed it gently back in the trunk, she wondered if one day, another girl would open the trunk and find the name Amelia Pond.
