Indents

She radiates warmth and comfort. Her grip is tight and for whatever reason, you feel safe around her. She is special, somehow, the one who never took anything but always gave everything. And she risked everything for you.

She deserves more than this, you know. But she deserves this, to be back to her parents, to be back to her family on the other side.

The meadow in front of you ripples like the water it should be. The sky is as blue as the sea. You grasp her hand a little desperately, telling her it'll be okay. That you'll be okay. That you'll see each other again.

You tell her not to look back. It hurts, really, knowing you'll have to wait. But it hurts more knowing she'll have to wait. And even though she won't know she's waiting, it still hurts.

You let her go. This is only fair. She is from a different world, a different universe with different needs. Firstly, she deserves to live her life. And you know that. So you let go of her hand.

You watch her leave like a wave, leaving such a mark behind her. She indents the world as she sees it.

And then when she's gone, when you can no longer see the ribbon in her hair sparkle, you turn back around and head to the bathhouse a final time.

Maybe you will see each other again.
