Kingdom Hearts II, Olette-centric (implied Olette+Roxas) & she never really forgets him

When they first met Sora, Olette could've sworn that, for a moment, he was someone else.

That he was some boy with sunflower hair and sky-blue eyes with a name that wanted to fall from her tongue—a boy she couldn't, for the life of her, clearly remember.

When he left that first time, Olette felt like her heart was breaking—shattering with each beat—because it felt, still feels like, he was never coming back.

When Sora is just a memory, she sifts through her boxes labeled 'memories', sorting through the photographs and ignoring the mess she's made there are cloths scattered all over her bed, pillows draped over her TV set. Her room looks like an elephant barged right through.

She finally finds them—all of them—after a long while, the photographs of the three of them together. She imagines that boy is hidden somewhere inside.

She finds nothing.

And Olette can not stand it.

She cries for no explicit reason other than it feels like someone died; her heart constricts, tightly, in her chest like they aren't—not fully; just misplaced—fully gone.

She tries to remember—to grab onto that one snippet of memory and hang onto it for dear life—but all she is left with is her tears, frustration and grief.

(He's gone, now, because she can't remember this little lost boy for the life of her. She can't remember him—who he was (to her), what he was like, his name, his face, his voice—at all, and she misses him so, so much.)

She wishes she could find a name to the boy that holds her heart so tight that it feels like she's being constricted. All she wants is a name to match a face that haunts her thought, infects her, at moments.

All she wants is for this boy to really exist.

Author's Note: …My first time writing Olette and I think I killed her. A lot. Possibly with every word, but I tend to be overly dramatic.
