Hey ^^

So this is a brief Amuto piece that I wrote in about twenty minutes... xD Oddly it's my first poetry-fanfiction on here.

Anyway, there's no real plot behind this. But I imagine that Ikuto is a big softie underneath all that stoicism, and here's my attempting at depicting it.

Her eyes peek out betwixt the sheets of white sand and pink-tinged sea-spray,

Peering from the watery shallows of morning's slumbering hold.

I tilt my head, I smile, I catch that softest ear between my teeth,

But never break my gaze from that alluring mermaid's gold.

.*.

And in the next instant the rose flushes red, the scathing, dainty creature

Gets up and flings me off the bed and casts me in the deep.

My heart sinks low, where lofty eyes won't see, for angels fair of face and wing

Can't know how mortals pain-ed* be, when they soar above to Heaven's keep.

.*.

I skulk and hide, a lowly cat, not fit to breathe those haughty airs,

She turns away, moves easily from sleep to graceful, waking dream.

A world of sun and just-begun; a garden that flowers 'neath her every step

While sorrow drowns my single bloom to an inked-blotted page where demons teem.

.*.

I rest my head, I sigh a bit, while risking a glance at her lovely form

Her sounds quieten from anger to sweet care and soft concern.

Her palm, a cooling oasis breeze finds its way to my forehead and pauses there,

Her soothing words fall like mercy from a lady high and stern.

.*.

I ask her if she won't be long, she answers that she will be.

These places seem built to keep fair maidens from those that hold them dear.

The gentle footfalls echo loudly, the closing door locks me in darkness

To endure the worst of all my ills: the hours when she isn't here.

.*.

And there it is. xD I hope you liked it, despite its brevity? Please leave a review? :)

*Pain-ed: Back in Shakespeare's day words with 'ed' on the end, like pained, were pronounced 'pain-ed'. I've used that pronunciation here as it fits the poem's meter better. I just added the hyphen to show that.

Thanks for reading!~ :D
