When the door bell to his share house with Ron, Seamus, Neville and Dean rang at precisely six pm on Christmas Eve, so engrossed in his quidditch magazine was Harry that he jumped in surprise and rushed for the door.
"I'll get it!" He called over his shoulder. When he opened the door his face broke into an instant smile, before him on the doorstep stood Luna, Hermione and George, Pavarti, Ginny and Ron's new lady friend Fay. Each of them was bundled up with coats and mittens and tightly wrapped scarves except for Luna who had also added a Santa hat with a pompom that flashed multiple colours and matching earrings.
"Hello Harry, Happy Christmas!" Luna said brightly giving him an even brighter smile. The other looked half frozen and only managed a small smile through chattering teeth,
"Same to you, Luna, Come in out of the cold everyone," Harry said stepping aside and holding the door open for them all.
Once everyone was inside and relatively warm again they joined the boys who had come from where they had been in the sitting room while Harry and Neville organised drinks and snacks in the kitchen. From the sounds of things George had conjured a guitar from somewhere and Seamus and Luna were singing a Christmas carol in their native tongue, Harry didn't recognise it but it sounded beautiful. They were still singing when Harry and Neville returned to the sitting room with the drinks. Harry stopped dead in his tracks; Luna was standing beside the Christmas tree illuminated by hundreds of tiny fairies that had flown from their perches to float around her head as she sang. Harry had never seen anything more beautiful. He was mesmerised.
"So beautiful" He sighed not realising he had spoken allowed until every head in the room turned to look at him. Ron sniggered, Ginny scowled a little despite the fact she had been with Neville for almost three years now and the others just smiled knowingly at him. Neither Luna nor Harry noticed anything. Luna continued to sing and Harry went back to staring.
How did I never notice her before? He thought to himself as he stared taking in all the little details he had not paid attention to before. Her hair was like spun silk, her eyes sparkled with happiness and that whole in the right knee of her jeans was almost erotic in the effects it was having on him.
"You alright there mate?" George asked when the song had ended and Harry remained frozen in the door way.
"Oh dear," Luna said looking worried "It's the Nargle's they've nested in the mistletoe," She continued. Harry just stood in place smiling serenely.
"Oh No not Nargle's!" Ron exclaimed mockingly.
"I am afraid so Ronald, "Luna replied gravely "Not to worry I know exactly what to do"
"Well thank Merlin for that." said George smiling fondly at her. He was very fond of Luna she was always good value.
"Indeed" she said simply as she walked right up to Harry and kissed him soundly on the lips. No one dared mention that this was the usual solution to Magical Mistletoe. Nargle's or not.
Harry reacted by wrapping his arms around her and lifting her off her feet. Luna stilted her head slightly to one side allowing Harry to deepen the kiss. That was all it took, Harry completely forgot he was in a room full of his nearest and dearest friends as he lost himself in the beauty and wonder that is Luna.
