Why Blue and not Red

There was something in Blue that wasn't quite there in Red. That lack of gullibility – how often had she trigged Red anyway? Out of his money, his badges – Blue wasn't as simple as that. And though it was nice to have someone who could trust like that…well, she'd learnt the hard way you couldn't trust anyone so easily.

Like those innocent looking birds in the sky – she'd never thought one of those would swoop in and take her away from her dear home, had she? Pretty faces initially – but now she knew what was underneath them. And Red was all smiles. All trusting. Easily tricked. Just like she'd been.

But not Blue. Blue was stronger, or smarter, or more knowledgeable. Or maybe he'd learnt like she did, that the world wasn't just red and green and blue.

Maybe that's what attracted her to him. There's someone who can protect something, she thought. There's someone who can fight and win.

Maybe Red could win too – but he wasn't going to get into the right fights as gullible as that.
