So this just kind of popped out at me twenty minutes ago, so I sat and wrote it. I hope you enjoy this little Channy fic, inspired by Wicked.
Sonny sat alone on the rooftop of the studio, looking towards the setting sun, admiring how beautiful the sky looked. Pinks and blues tinted the orange rimmed sun, casting an otherworldly glow on the city. It amazed Sonny that something so common could be so remarkable.
She hummed quietly to herself as she idly swung her legs back and forth. She faintly heard the sound of the door to the roof opening, but she did not turn or silence her song.
"Whatcha singing?" She heard a voice ask.
"As Long As Your Mine, from Wicked," Sonny replied, turning to see none other than Chad Dylan Cooper.
The two sat in companionable silence for a moment until Chad whispered, "Don't stop on my account."
"It's alright," Sonny said, turning to the blonde star, "I don't need you to make fun of my singing voice."
Chad looked hurt, surprisingly. Normally he would have thought of a snarky retort, but this time he was a little sad that Sonny thought he would mock her singing. He was even sadder that the truth was, he might have made fun of her not long ago.
But something was changing between them. Something neither could explain. And Chad knew that if he could just get Sonny to sing, he might know what that something was.
"Please sing," Chad pleaded, looking at Sonny with eyes as clear as the ocean on a calm day.
"Kiss me too fiercely, hold me too tight," Sonny sang quietly, continuing with a shaky breath, "I need help believing you're with me tonight."
She looked away from Chad's glazed eyes, embarrassed. Chad grabbed her hand in his, and took a deep breath.
"Maybe I'm brainless, maybe I'm wise. But you've got me seeing through different eyes. Somehow I've fallen under your spell, and somehow I'm feeling it's up that I fell," He sang to her, eyes locked with Sonny's.
After several seconds of excruciating silence, it all made sense.
And when their lips met, soft and sincere, there was no questioning it.
The feeling they got from being together was positively wicked.
The last line is a little corny, but I didn't want to do anymore dialogue. Did you like it? Let me know all my fellow Channy lovers!
