Leaf felt among the ferns for the banana she had dropped. Bananas were her favourite food and she was getting annoyed as it seemed to have disapeared into thin air. Leaf's sister Poppy also loved bananas and had only left one on the banana tree for Leaf.
Now, she got no bananas. Leaf was just about to turn around and go home when something closed around her muzzle. A dragon's talon. And, judging by how dark it was in color, it belonged to a NightWing.
"Let me go!" She tried to screech, but the Nightwing's talon stopped her from opening her mouth. Now bananas were the least of her worries. But what did the NightWings want with a RainWing? That was what confused her.
Leaf struggled and squirmed but the Nightwing was joined by another one who tied a thick vine over her eyes. Leaf felt herself being dragged across the mud and grass. She had always thought the rainforest was safe. Until now.
How had these Nightwings got here, anyway? Their home wasn't anywhere near the rainforest. Leaf tried camoflouge herself, but the Nightwings' grip didn't loosen. She was dragged further still, then she felt her head collide with a tree.
Leaf's head was jolted up and she realised the Nightwings were climbing the tree. She was akwardly dragged up it with them. When they reached a branch, Leaf was aware of a hole where the bark should be. There was something sinister about it.
The NightWings shoved her into the hole without warning. Leaf let out a shreik, at least happy to be able to open her mouth again. She still couldn't see though. Leaf plummeted downwards and landed on hard stone. The NightWings landed beside her. They had used their wings to stop them from falling.
One grabbed her muzzle again and they set off again. Leaf had no idea where they were, she could only sense that the air was tainted with ash. We must be near a volcano, she realised.
She was lost in her thoughts when one of the NightWing's talons came down on her head and she drifted into nothingness.
