"How is she doing?"

Kuroda Ryuichiro's ageless eyes looked up at his two henchmen sparingly as they re-entered the room. Oshima Kyotaro and Wakatamsu Kouzou looked worse for wear with the dripping hair and coats. The two youngsters, Tatsukawa Minoru and Asakura Tetsu paced the small waiting area with impatience. The sandaime kumicho sighed.

"Still no word, but rest assured. Kumiko has always been a strong woman."

Ten pain staking hours had passed since they arrived at the residence of the underground doctor. Yakuza couldn't go to a civilian hospital due to who they were. The five main members of the Ooedo Clan had been here since. Hell, even that delinquent brat Kudo was sitting in a chair glaring menacingly at Fuji.

Suddenly, the shoji door slid open and out stepped a young man with red hair carrying a bundle in his arms. Kyo turned to the boy expectantly.

"Young master! How is Ojou?"

Sawada Shin's face was blank for a split second then he smiled a the men in the room.

"She's fine. Groggy, but fine."

Ryuichiro stood to his feet and approached the young man. The old man didn't have to say a word as Shin offered the bundle to him. The others crowed behind him to see the priceless gift. Ryuichiro took the child into his arms.

"Name?"

Shin grinned, "Ameko."

"How appropriate."

The kumicho placed a gentle hand on the baby's soft, jet black hair as she mewed softly at her great grandfather. Kyo ran to the young master's side, throwing an arm around his shoulders.

"Hot damn it's a beautiful day! C'mon, young master, it's time to celebrate! Drinks all around on me!"

"God damnit, Kyo-san! Stop your bullshit!"

Sawada Kumiko stood in the doorway behind her husband, one hand on her hip while the other held onto the IV.

"AH! Ojou! You should be resting!" Wakamatsu protested.

"Like hell I'll be able to rest with Kyo-san influencing my family like that!"

"B-but...Ojou..."

As the fussing continued, Ryuichiro's eyes were still on the child in his arms. The creases around his lips extending as he smiled down at the new born life.

"A beautiful day indeed."
