How Greg wished he could have done something first. Talked to her, wiped away her tears or he could have said the lamest joke in the world… anything just to see her smile, the smile that he always loved.
Seeing her in tears broke his heart. If only he had to courage to approach her and cheer her up. There he stood, meters away but for him, it seemed like she's miles away.
Greg couldn't stand seeing her like that. The girl he loved who was now in need of a shoulder to cry on. He had to do something. In fact, he is her best friend. And best friends help each other.
Greg gathered all the strength left in him. He took a step and stopped. Grissom seemed out of nowhere appeared. He walked straight at Sara and sat next to her.
As he watched Sara place her head on his shoulder his strength slowly faded and his heart broke.
He looked away for a moment, thinking of why he wasn't leaving yet. He set his eyes on the two again.
She was now wrapped around his arms. Greg saw her gave a soft laugh as he wiped her tears.
He smiled. "I'm glad to see that you're happy, Sara." Greg left.
He shook his head. He couldn't believe he let her slip away like that. But he still felt happy because if Sara's happy, he's happy
oooooooooo
Sara felt Grissom hold her tighter. She felt happy that he was there to cheer her up but she felt uncomfortable with the situation. With him.
"Grissom, thank you so much for comforting me but can you please…" Sara moved back a little bit. She didn't know how to finish her sentence but knowing that Grissom is an intelligent man, he would understand.
Sara felt Grissom loosen his grip. He slowly let go of Sara. He knew what Sara was trying to say.
"Are you sure you're okay? If you want to have a break for-"
"I'm fine, Grissom. Thanks again."
Grissom watched Sara leave the room. He sat there and wondered why the moment had to end. And there it hit him. He could make Sara happy but it won't last for an eternity. But there's someone outside the locker room that could. A frown ran across Grissom's face. As a tear fall from his eye, he soon realized that he was now the one who needed comforting.
ooooooooooo
Sara looked everywhere for him. Where could he be? Sara stopped at her tracks. She had been looking around everywhere for him. As she turned around, a pair of eyes met her, beautiful and captivating. The eyes she just loved to gaze at all day long.
"Sara!" He was so happy seeing Sara smiling again. Her eyes were still kind of red and puffy. Her cheeks were bright pink. But still there was the smile. She looked beautiful.
"Greg!" She placed her arm around him and smiled. She closed her eyes as if she wanted to sleep and not wanting to wake up. She felt very special with him. Sara felt relieved. She felt very comfortable with the man she's with.
"Now, this is the hug I am looking for."
"Yeah?"
"Well, you're the kind of guy I've been looking for."
