The Creature and I
The Shadow shall quake the Earth
upon where it stands.
The Creature shows no fear,
nor lays a forceful hand.
A child screams long and loud,
but there is no one near to hear.
The Creature lays flowers saying,
"There is nothing to fear."
My screaming stops
during the awkward silence.
I peered at the lovely roses,
though now I felt dence.
We stared into each others eyes
to what felt like hours.
He pushed the roses closer and I said,
"Thank you for the flowers."
Years past and we were in love,
but things were trying to break us apart.
Humans, demons, and works of God,
but nothing can break us, fore we are one heart.
One day, he walked alone
to catch us a meal.
From behind, a mountain lion had pounced
and his pain I can feel
I ran to find him,
but him I could not locate,
"Oh, God," I thought, "please no,
don't let him meet his fate."
His cry for help
was the first to hear.
Then a snap, "Please, God,
don't take him from me," I feared.
Upon him was the lion,
and my heart dropped and I choked.
I then picked up a large rock,
but small as it was, it's sight had broke.
It growled at me and peered into my eyes,
and I stared back.
I walked towards it with no fear
it ran into the woods and it's courage lacked.
The blood drips slowly down his face.
I try to wipe away the blood and tears,
then his eyes roll back with one last breath.
My breath and heartbeat are the only things I hear.
I lie down next to his corpse,
waiting for him to say, "your my wife."
I whisper into his cold dead ear,
"Forgive me, please come back to life."
All I wanted was only you,
and lay against your chest.
Listen to your heartbeat,
it would always be the best.
My heart was broken into many pieces,
but the memory of him will live on.
I will never forget how he loved me,
nor will I forget our song.
His last words were very simple,
"Live on, and don't forget me."
It's hard to accept that he is forever gone,
but now, I think he is in a better place and free.
The emptyness inside my soul
is the hardest thing to bare.
I could not leave his grave,
now knowing that life isn't fair.
I began to take my leave
with tears rolling from my eyes.
Then, a bolt of lightning
struck the ground where he lies.
I ran back towards him
to see if any life took place.
The ground had shifted
and my heart began to race.
His hand punched though the Earth
and I grabbed it to help him out.
As I pulled him out from the ground,
pain shot into him and he let out a shout.
We looked into each other's eyes,
and I brushed off the remaining dirt.
He was trying to speak but only I understood.
"I hope that your heart is no longer hurt."
Hope you all like it. It took me 20 min just to write the whole thing and Frankenstein Rules!
