A/N: I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this. I based it of the phrases in the summary, which came to me whilst I was trying to sleep. Well, the first one did, and the other kinda built off that. And then it became... this mess. Least, I think it's a mess. It's kinda jumbled if you ask me. Ah well...
Naruto glanced casually at Sakura. He had done this for over a thousand times. She was… beautiful. From her cherry-pink hair, to her emerald eyes… every inch of her was beautiful. Not to mention, never his.
Naruto didn't want to admit it… he hated to say it, but he knew, deep down, down in the recesses of his soul. He knew that Sakura would never be his. She loved Sasuke. She always would, just as he would always love her… and he hated it.
Hate… Love… such strong emotions. Maybe that's what drove him to do what he did.
He had laughed. Laughed while her face contorted into horror, as his kunai slipped in and out of her flesh, as blood spurted into the air; he had laughed. And then, then he had cried. Tears… tears of… emptiness. Each tear, was so hollow. No joy, no sorrow.
He stared at her corpse. Beautiful… perhaps more so… the blood had stopped flowing, after all, her heart had stopped. His kunai gripped in his hand, still bleeding. Love had turned to hate. Hate had consumed him until nothing was left.
Perhaps this was what it was like to be Sasuke, that emo-prat. But Sasuke was driven; Naruto was hollow. Empty.
Perhaps he'd hunt him down and kill him too; he was the cause of this problem. Damn pretty boy… everyone had always fawned over him.
He had loved Sasuke, like a brother… and love… love was slowly turning to hate. Strong, burning hate… hate that would gnaw at him further, drive him to kill more…
He laughed at the idea. It made him smile and laugh. Laughter made people happy. Naruto wasn't considered a person; maybe that's why laughter made him cry. Cry tears of nothing.
