A (short) paper I wrote for schoolusing sentence fluency. So if it seems a little strange, that's why.

Stings, scrapes, and burns were commonplace around Rivendell when Elladan and Elrohir were there. Whenever the twins came home for a visit, accidents always seemed to happen every day. Lord Elrond, their father, did not know how he was supposed to deal with his mischievous sons, so he usually spent most of their visits barricaded in his study. The only thing that would draw him out was every misfortune; he was forever afraid that something potentially life threatening had occurred. Although these mishaps were always minor, the twins usually succeeded in drawing their father away from his work.

The first day of this visit had resulted in the kitchens being set alight. The head chef of Rivendell declared that it had been Elladan's fault because he had knocked the cook over which had resulted in the cook's apron falling into the fire.

The second day, Glorfindel had woken to find that someone had placed a wasp's nest on his windowsill. While he had promptly blamed Elladan, it had been Elrohir who had actually set the stinging home there.

On the third and final day, both twins were reprimanded for scaring several young elflings out of trees and causing them to run through the forest screaming of an orc attack.

Each incident had resulted in at least one person having to go to the infirmary, and at least one twin had to take the blame.

When the day finally came that Elladan and Elrohir returned to the wild for yet another orc hunt, everyone was secretly glad to see them go. As they rode through the gates, Elrond turned to Erestor and said, "I don't think that they will ever mature."
