A.N: So, I've had this sitting on my computer since 11-27… So, I edited it a bit and here you go!

"Mello! Mello! Mello! Mello! Mello! Mello!" Matt's voice grew louder each time he called the name.
"What Matt?" replied a nearly deaf Mello.
"Look over there!" Matt pointed gleefully down the street. He was pointing at a large moving van with a white car following closely behind. "Do you think they have a kid?"
Mello followed Matt's point and shrugged. "I don't know. Let's go visit them." Matt was about to bound off to the new neighbors' house when Mello yanked him back by his hoodie.
"What?" Matt choked out. Mello sighed. Wasn't it common sense to bring your new neighbors a gift?
"You're supposed to give your new neighbors a gift first." Mello said matter-of-factly. "We should bring them cookies or something."
Matt nodded vigorously. The two set out to bake the goodies. Unfortunately, the two geniuses had no expertise whatsoever in cooking, nevertheless baking.
"First," Mello stated, "We need to get the ingredients." He walked around the kitchen, grabbing and placing whatever he thought went in a cookie and placed them on the kitchen island. "We probably need flour. And sugar cause cookies are sweet. Oh! And chocolate! Cookies always have chocolate!" Having gathered all the ingredients [or so they thought], they placed everything in a large bowl.
"Hey, Mello," Matt said, "Isn't it supposed to be sticky? Like when your mom does it and we shape the dough?"
Mello stared at the powdery substance in the bowl. "I know! Water." He poured water into the bowl and mixed. After it looked like the water had been absorbed, he picked up a handful of the batter; Matt followed, shaped it and placed it in the pan.
"Now what?" Matt looked at the pan uncertainly. It looked better when Mrs. Keehl made them. Had they done something wrong, he wondered?
"Umm…" Mello stated as he made his way with the pan to the oven. "I guess we put it in the oven, start it and wait for it to cook. And then we go to the neighbor's house."
30 minutes later
"Mello," Matt said worriedly, "Do you smell something burning?" Both boys looked to the kitchen. Seeing the smoke and eyes going wide, they ran to the kitchen.
"Matt! Grab the fire extinguisher!" Mello looked around for something to stop the smoke.
"Mello, you don't have a fire extinguisher!" Matt wailed over the alarm of the fire detector.
"Get some water!" Matt ran to the kitchen sink, filled a pitcher, and tossed it into the growing blaze. The fir roared.
"Mello!"
"Open a window!"
2 minutes later
Mrs. Keehl was expecting the two boys to be in the front yard, playing, inventing, imagining, or running up to her with a creature or new thing they had made. She had not expected to see the front yard empty. Nor had she expected to see smoke rising out from the kitchen window. Forgetting her groceries [one of the items she bought, ironically, were cookies], she rushed to the front door while dragging the hose behind her and called out Matt and Mello's name. She ran to the kitchen to find both boys screaming and desperately trying to put out a small fire with cups of water from the sink. She pulled the trigger on the hose and watered the kitchen, including the two juveniles. The fire detector stopped.
"Mom!" "Mrs. Keehl!" both boys cried at the same time. Then said, "uh-oh…"
"Mello. Matt. What were you two doing?" she said panting. Both boys, dripping wet and scared, scrambled to tell her everything, each other's voice overlapping each other.
