"A present? For ME? Oh, thanks, Harvax!" said Shadowy Figure delighted, "Someone actually remembered my birthday! Unlike the last FIVE YEARS..."
"Heh. Now, why not open it? I think you'll like it!" said Harvax XVII.
"Okay, I will!" Shadowy Figure opened the package sitting on his lap, and a white Kirby with black, white-tipped Kirby-ears, black feet, large, black eyes with white pupils, black feet, and a black glove on his left hand jumped out at him.
"You got me a Kirby? Aw, you shouldn't have! Hmm... I'll name it... Harvey. Your name is Harvey."
"Nice name," said the indifferent Kirby.
"This thing can already talk?"
"I'M NOT A THING. Call me Harvey. Like you named me," said the now-angry Harvey.
"You smarta-"
"DO NOT CALL ME THAT," ordered the increasingly annoyed Harvey.
"Hmph. I guess I WON'T keep you," replied Shadowy Figure, as he threw Harvey back into the box. Harvey walked back out of it a few seconds later.
"Okay, sorry," blatantly lied Harvey.
"NOT GOOD ENOUGH." Shadowy Figure threw Harvey back into the box, but this time using a butcher knife. It appears Harvey has been convinced. He has just crawled back out of the box, his wounds mysteriously healed, and is holding a red rose.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Figure. I shouldn't have acted that way. Can you forgive me?"
"Ehh... Sure, why not?" All this time Harvax had been standing there, growing increasingly worried. Why this is, I am not sure.
"Hmm. This is bad," thought Harvax. He had then taken out what appears to be a communicator and started speaking into it.
"It appears we will need to resort to Plan B." It appears that this is not Harvax. And who he is speaking to, it is hard to tell.
"Um, ah, Master Shadowy Figure? Yes, it appears Saargtsson needs you downstairs in the Lava Zone," alerted what seems to be Harvax, while putting away the communicator.
"Oh. Of course. Likely a birthday surprise. C'mon, Harvey," Shadowy Figure called as he walked out of the room.
"Right!" Harvey ran to Shadowy Figure as they raced to the Lava Zone.
"Okay, they're here," Harvax announced to Saargtsson, patiently waiting inside the Lava Zone.
"Excccccccellent," hissed what hopefully is Saargtsson, "Now thhhhhennnnnnnn..." Saargtsson had started to laugh in unison with Harvax.
"Wait... The Lava Zone isn't under my fortress! It's not even in this city!" realized Shadowy Figure. It looks like hope failed. The illusion of the Lava Zone, Harvax XVII, and Saargtsson faded away revealing a dark room encased in red light. What used to resemble Harvax and Saargtsson reveal themselves to be Master and Crazy Hands. A blue light flashed behind the giant dismembered gloves. It turned out to be Tabuu.
"You're... Taboo, right?" asked Shadowy Figure
"Only in Japan. It's Tabuu here," replied Tabuu.
Shadowy Figure was confused. Tabuu's voice was only distorted static and various 8-bit notes, yet he could understand what he said. But Shadowy Figure had more to worry about. He was being pummeled by the Hands. Now he could see where the red light was emitting itself from. A portal was at the far end of the room. Shadowy Figure was thrown into it along with Harvey. The two were now trapped in Subspace.
"Hmm. Subspace. Rather fitting, is it not?" asked Harvey.
"True. So, should we get going?" answered Shadowy Figure.
"Agreed," replied Harvey as the two raced towards the stairs leading to the entrance of Subspace.
CHAPTER END.
