This is a short little drabble created from a prompt meme on tumblr, with the prompt being "things you said too quietly". I wrote it a while ago so I touched it up a bit to post, but I figured this is sort of a good way to dip my toes into the water of the Noragami fandom on here. It's been a long time since I've wrote anything other than Kingdom Hearts, but I've absolutely fallen for this series and its characters so I'm hoping more stories will come in the future.

A Mumbled Wish

"I wish you would stay." Yato mumbled as Hiyori made her way towards the door.
Squinting and turning her head back, she asked, "Did you say something, Yato?"
"Me? Nope." Yato flailed around exuberantly before turning away, "Nothing. Nothing at all."
Hiyori gave him a doubting look before glancing over to Yukine, who was doing his best to keep his face clueless. He knew exactly what Yato said, but if he didn't want to tell Hiyori, then he wouldn't either.
Though she still wasn't convinced, she turned back around and started to reach for the door knob, "Alright, if you say so."
"Hi-Hiyori!" Yukine called after her, earning curious stares from both her and Yato. With his cheeks tinged pink, he asked, "Could… you maybe stay a little later? I wanna keep working on those math problems. Plus, if you hang around, you could have dinner here with everybody too. I'm sure Kofuku and Daikoku wouldn't mind."
Hiyori's lips curled upward into a small smile, taking a step back towards the two boys, "Sure, Yukine-kun. That sounds nice."
"Great." He answered, his voice still a little shaky from having to make up a lie on the spot. Before he got the chance to sit down, Yukine felt a hand on his shoulder. When he glanced backwards, Yato gave him a wink and mouthed 'Thank you'. Yukine rolled his eyes at first but found himself smiling too.
