Author's note: This fic was initially inspired by the song "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift, but the plot has evolved further than the storyline that's found in the lyrics. This is a love triangle piece, Jacob/Bella/Edward (I'm thoroughly team Edward; this is a first for me). Forgive me for having such a short piece up, a much much longer chapter shall come soon =]

Plus, much of the writing and the story's title was inspired by the Script song "Before The Worst".

PREFACE

In a fraction of a second, my world was thrown into chaos. And while my life hadn't been as stable as it had been a few months ago, it was nothing compared to what was standing before me now.

I couldn't remember how to breathe. Dark eyes of anger glared me, inches from my face. I was frozen. Fear, astonishment and shock ran through me. I was hot and cold, all at once.

All I could think was, had he known? Because he seemed to know everything else.
