Yet another little drabble. I cant bring myself to write a full length story without it being too cliché seeing as both groups of survivors never really meet up again or are in even remotely the same area. So this is the best I could do, bend the rules a little bit.

He was leaving behind one beautiful thing for another beautiful thing. Running towards the Jimmy Gibbs Jr. he felt the adrenaline rush through his veins. Everyone was ahead of him and seemed to be looking behind him. The infected seemed to be thinning out seeing as the generator had stopped making noise. There was little enough noise for him to hear the distinct sound of sneakers hitting the pavement behind him and he sure as hell didn't miss the smirk Rochelle was giving him. He turned around to see what he never would have expected.

"Ellis! Ellis!"

It was her.

It was Zoey running towards him, bright pink jacket working like a flare. She stopped just short of him to catch her breath. He couldn't miss how tired and haggard she looked. Dirt, grime and blood spotting her person in various places. She stood up strait and looked him in the eye. Gosh the way she looked at him made his heart pound all the more fast if that was even possible.

"I don't usually do things like this-on impulse you know? But it's a zombie apocalypse and well, ah screw it!" and with that she put her hands on his shoulders and pressed her lips against his. She smelled dominantly of blood and gunpowder but he could smell a faint lingering of things from a normal life clinging to her. A bit of make-up, lingering floral perfume mixed in with fading deodorant and sweat. Too soon she stepped back from him and handed him a slip of paper.[1] He unfolded it, inside she had hastily written "I'll be in the Florida Keys".

"In case you ever change your mind about where your going" she said, nervously "That's where I'll be"

"I wont forget this" he replied, a grin setting in on his face. "I uh I'm not too good with goodbyes" His throat threatened to tighten with the idea of leaving but despite anything he was feeling he had to go. With a happy laugh he scooped her up into a bear hug which she immediately reciprocated. As he released her she seemed the whine in protest. She was just as torn as he was. She turned to leave but not before giving him one last order, although it had no fire behind it.

"Don't die on me"

This one was sad to write and made of fluffy goodness ^^
