A/N Recently wrote this for my English class. It's a Found Poem with some quotes from Chapter 12: Cry Of The Hunters. It is a spoken word poem about the final chapter and I got 100% on it, so enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Lord Of The Flies. If I did, Simon wouldn't be dead :(

Don't Scream

Piggy, Simon – Killed

By Jack

Purposely

No, they aren't as bad as that

It was an accident

They're still human

But still,

Two, killed

Their bodies gone

Just like their souls

They left me

Alone, hiding, running

I heard their chant in the distance

Kill the beast!

The familiar chant

How Simon was killed

Cut his throat!

The rhythm picked up

Spill his blood!

Repeated

Again.

Again.

Again.

I saw two figures running in the distance

Two, gripping spears

Samneric

They're part of the tribe now

Savages like the rest

But maybe not

It's only me, Ralph

I spoke

They told me things

Awful things

Roger tortures them

They are afraid

Of Roger, of Jack

They're hunting me now

I hid

I heard a savage speak

Roger sharpened a stick at both ends

Gibberish

But I ran away to hide

I saw a pig's skull in the ground

On a stick

Sharpened at both ends

Running once again

I needed time to think

Think, think

Piggy could think

But Piggy was dead

The conch smashed to powder

Gone

Like our rules

Like our civilization

Like my life

I hid again

Not very well

I saw a foot approach

Don't scream

His leg came into sight

Don't scream

A torso, a face

Don't scream

His eye caught mine

He saw me

I noticed his stick

Sharpened at both ends

I screamed

I ran

I smelled smoke

The island was on fire

They were trying to smoke me out

I had no choice

It would work

I kept running

But gave up all hope

Surely they'd catch me

Kill me

And put my head on a stick

Like the pig

I was almost out of the jungle

I tripped

The pack of savages drew closer

I looked ahead

I was on the beach

In front of me was a naval officer

With a boat

Here to save me from my terrible fate

Fun and games

He said

Jokes about us having a war

But we were

Two had died

Piggy

Simon

They were killed

By Jack

I looked at him

He knew

He knew it was all his fault

He was responsible for the savagery

For the deaths

For everything

He started to cry

As did the other former savages

As did I

I cried for what I had learned on this island

I learned of the darkness of a man's heart

I cried for my loss of innocence

But most of all

I cried for my loss

My loss of my true, wise friend

The loss of Piggy

A/N: What do you think? I am planning a real LotF story right now, so would anyone actually want to read it? Reviews are greatly appreciated!
