Death & Desire
He sits in the room alone,
Day after day.
The door is always ajar,
But he never thinks to leave.
He sits, entranced,
In front of a great mirror.
He sees nothing,
He sees everything.
The walls enclose him,
But the mirror is what holds him in.
He is flirting dangerously with death,
Toying with desire,
And he wants it no other way.
It is finally taken away,
And he is told to no longer return.
But, day after day,
He sits in the room,
Trying to feel what he used to.
He lives in memories,
Death, and desire.
