AN: Hey, y'all! So y'all know about the wee love triangle between Henry, Nik, and Ariel, right? Which was totally accidental, mind you. They did that themselves. But it adds some drama, so I'm running with it. Anyway, this is kinda how Ariel and Nik's relationship goes. It's mostly moments. So yeah. Now, I love playing with magnets. (Write what you know, right? xD) So the other night, I was playing with some magnets, and this scene popped into my head. I decided to do it, but challenge myself. I'm a dialogue gal. This has no dialogue. Not even any thoughts. But I still wanted to be able to convey what goes on between them. And this author note has lasted forever. . . .

She found him in the library. He glanced at her when she took the chair next to him and returned the quick grin she gave him. Tesla returned his attention to his book while Ariel shifted the chair so her body faced him. She sat criss cross in the chair and pulled a small magnet out of the pocket of her dark grey sweater. She held it between her fingers of her right hand and held it to his shoulder. Ariel felt the light pull of the polarities and ever so slowly closed the distance between Tesla and the magnet until the tug was just strong enough to threaten her hold. Tesla took a drink of his wine as he let her play and run the magnet, keeping the short distance between him and the magnet, down his arm. When she started to go back up, Nikola shifted and rested his elbow on the table, hand up and palm facing away from them. Ariel shifted again, placing her own elbow on the table and keeping most of her weight on it. She held the magnet in front of his open hand and traced his fingers with it. She could feel the heat of his skin against her cold fingers. Nikola was now watching her, but she was too focused on what she was doing to fully notice. When the magnet was at the center of his palm, Nikola increased the pull and Ariel gave a startled yelp as it hit his skin. Before Ariel could pull away, his fingers closed around hers, hot against her chill. Keeping his fingers around her hand, Nikola used his thumb to lift her fingers one by one, and lacing his with hers as he went. The magnet was still between their palms as Nikola let his fingers curl down between hers and held her hand. Ariel's remained up, but loose, and after a moment she let hers go as well.

AN: And that's it. The sequel to Frost is in the works, and the (most likely) title will be Cold Fire. So keep an eye out for it!
