A/N: Random story I wrote awhile ago. I recently found in my hard drive. I thought I'd share it since there aren't a lot Nudist stories. :D Here it is, and enjoy!
Rory shut her book. The chapter had taken longer than she had expected, although she did pause after every paragraph and stare at the phone on her nightstand, hoping it would ring to draw her away from the story of the fifth Chinese Dynasty. Unfortunately, no such luck. Even so, she finished her chapter and was free to call Marty. She reached to pick up the phone but then quickly pulled back. What would she say? She needed a topic to talk about when she got him on the phone. She couldn't just say, "So, what did you want?" Not only was that rude, but she wanted to really talk to him. She hadn't talked to him in awhile, maybe she ask him how he was doing...Yeah. That would work. She picked up the phone, but heard Paris jabbering on the other line. "Paris?"
"Rory? What are you doing on the phone?" Paris responded.
"I have to make a call. How long have you been on the phone?"
"I don't know. Probably since you went to your room. I had to call Doyle."
"PARIS! Marty could have been calling!"
"Oh my God! Just call him on your cell."
"Oh...right. Hi Doyle."
"Hello Rory," Doyle said. "Hey, have you finished that article o-"
"You are seriously not talking to Rory, are you?" Paris interjected.
"No. Goodbye Rory."
"Bye," she said and hung up the phone. Rory stood up and grabbed her purse and pulled out her cell phone. Once she dialed his number, she walked out into the kitchen to grab a bottle of soda. The phone rang five times before she realized no one was there. She ended the call and said, "Great." She then heard a knock on her door. She put the bottle on counter and answered the door. When she opened it, she saw him. He was standing awkwardly with his hands in his pockets and nervous grin on his face. She could tell he was happy to see her, and she him. She grinned, said, "Marty!" and gave him a huge hug. He was warm and she fit in his arms perfectly. She felt safe. She pulled away from him but kept the grin on her face. "How are you? I haven't talked to in awhile."
"I know. I'm doing pretty good, how about you?" He asked as they made their way to the couch.
"Swamped with homework. I can't believe we're graduating in less than two months!"
"You're telling me. I have a mound of homework to get through."
"Then why are you spending so much time out of your apartment?"
"Work. I'll get it done, it's just gonna take some time. Besides, I really wanted to see you."
Rory smiled. "I've missed you."
"You too." Marty smiled warmly at her and then look around the room. "So…nothing's changed very much, I guess."
"Nope. We're pretty average people."
"Ha. You? Average? Paris? Yeah, she's 'special.'"
Rory laughed. "Ok, then, our style is pretty average."
Marty shrugged. "That'll work I guess."
"Good. So…I heard you called earlier. What did you want to talk about?"
"Oh, yeah. Right. Well, I was wondering if you'd like to go to a show with me."
"What kind of show?"
"A play to be exact."
"And this play would be…?"
"Well, it's The Phantom of the Opera."
"A musical! Of course I'll go!"
"Great." Marty smiled before he continued on reluctantly, "Um, I was kind of hoping it'd be…a…"
"A what?" Rory asked trying to hide her anticipation.
"Um…a date," he answered not looking her in the eye.
Rory grinned and, without thinking twice, said "I'd enjoy that."
He quickly looked up at her and asked, "Really?"
She took one of his hands and very calmly said, "Really."
A/N: The end of the chapter. Or story. I don't know if I want to continue it or now. Your reviews may persuade me to continue this story. :D
