To Love Is To Understand
When
our time is up
When our lives are done
Will we say we've had
our fun
A small silver haired child stood on a tall building, gazing at the people below him. Together, they were rebuilding their city for the second time in two years. A tear streaked down his face and he turned to the sky and smiled.
Will
we make a mark this time
Will we always say we tried
These were the results of his work, his rage, and he wasn't proud. It has taken him a long time to see how wrong he really was. He was at the brink of death when he had realized it was all a big mistake… he really was just a remnant, a shadow of the One Winged Angel, a tool for his mothers fiendish plans.
Standing
on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the
rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
The boy tensed, his eyes following a dark, blonde haired figure with a sigh.
"I'm so sorry brother. I hope you can forgive me… us," the small child whispered. A gentle hand lay on his shoulder and he relaxed.
"It's alright Kadaj, he's let go of his grudge. Just like you," a voice said soothingly.
Kadaj whimpered for a moment, before crying out. "BROTHER!"
All
the love I've met
I have no regrets
If it all ends now, I'm
set
Will we make a mark this time
will we always say we tried…
The word echoed over the city.
Cloud looked up and stared at the empty skeleton of the building Rufus and Kadaj had jumped off weeks ago. He could have sworn he had heard Kadaj… but now, the silver haired remnant was just a memory… just a lovely memory.
Standing on the rooftops
(Wait until
the bombs drop)
This is all we got now
(Scream until your heart
stops)
Never gonna regret
(Watching every sunset)
We'll
Listen to your heartbeat
(All the love that we found)
"Don't worry Kadaj. He understands…" The small child locked eyes with Aerith. She smiled and he nodded his head, then turned back to watch the beloved person he had thought as a threat, an enemy, touch the red ribbon on his arm, and then touch a silver ribbon just above the red ribbon.
"I think… I think I finally understand too," Kadaj said softly.
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your
heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart
out
Aerith smiled. "Come on, the others are waiting for us," she said. Kadaj nodded and the two turned, fading into a bright white light. Kadaj looked back once.
"Goodbye brother…"
Standing
on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we
got now
Everybody Scream your...
Cloud paused as he mounted Fenrir, looking up at the sky. A raindrop fell on his nose and a familiar voice echoed inside his head.
"Goodbye brother…"
Cloud smiled as a silver bird with a long green blue tail flew past, disappearing into the clouds.
"Goodbye brother," was faintly heard over the roar of Fenrir as Cloud took off, leaving behind a trail of dust in his wake.
