I'm not entirely sure where this came from, I got the idea in Physics today at school and wrote it out when I got to work later on. It didn't exactly fit any of the other drabble prompts so I just stuck it out there... here… I suppose… It's a weird idea.

Sam sighed heavily looking at the brunette in front of him before glancing over her shoulder to the group of men running towards them, waiting silently until they came to a stop behind Jules. They all started speaking at once but the blonde merely held up a hand to quiet them. "I'm sorry, I really am. I never thought the lie would have gone on this long…" At the confused look on their faces he spoke up again. "I'm not the man you think I am." He stated an almost pained expression on his face.

"What?" Jules frowned, not understanding the words coming out of her friends' mouth even though they were said in clear English.

"My name is Lieutenant Nicolas S. Williams not Samuel Braddock; I am not a Generals son, nor do I have any military connections other then my own. Even though I've been a part of JTF-2 operations since I was 15, I have never served with nor shot a man named Matt. I was sent by General Landry as part of an undercover mission to detain or destroy a traitorous cop who was selling salient information to various drug lords around the world." The blonde paused, taking in their reactions of shock. "Now that this task is done I am removing myself from the SRU to return to my post out East." The sniper ducked his head, turning to leave but Jules hand shot out and grabbed Sam's… no …Nicolas's arm

"So that's it then? You just said everything we know about you is a lie… and now what?" she shouted, anger chorusing through her veins. "You're just going to disappear?" Silently Sam… no Nicolas, she reminded herself again, disconcertingly her brain wondered if he went by Nick; looked at her. His blue eyes were so hard and cold, so unforgiving she could barely recognized them as the ones that had looked at her so lovingly in past months.

He nodded the motion barely visible as if he didn't care to expend the energy on answering her. The blonde pulled his arm away from Jules grip, and as if it was as simple as that, he turned and walked away, leaving behind a team full of unanswered questions.

But only one questioned mattered to Jules.

"What about us? Was all that a lie too?" She asked her voice a mere whisper as darkness surrounded her.
