Alice should have seen this coming. She should have known about this from the beginning. It had to have been a conscious decision for both of them. If she had seen it then all of this hurt, confusion, betrayal, anger, and pain could have been avoided. If she had just seen it then Bella would have never needed to get involved. What made the situation worse was the way they had found out.
Alice, Rosalie, Emmett, and Bella had been shopping. Alice and Rose had insisted they take Bella shopping and Emmett had been forced to come and carry the bags. Edward had chosen to stay home and wait for Jasper who had been out hunting alone. After returning, Alice pulled Bella upstairs to show Edward an outfit she had gotten the human. Yanking open the door to Edward's room, both women were assaulted by the sight of Edward and Jasper tangled together on the leather sofa. Alice slammed the door closed so hard cracks spider webbed from the frame and the handle was crushed.
A moment later the door was pulled back open by a tortured looking Edward. Bella began sobbing when she saw him. Alice glared at him, her gold eyes angry and hurt. Behind him she could see the window was open meaning Jasper had fled.
"I'm not going to apologize. I'm not ashamed to be with Jasper; no matter what he thinks. I know we should have told both of you immediately after it started, but we just couldn't. Jazz is still so fragile. Bella I will apologize for hurting you, but I won't stop seeing Jasper. The cold truth is that I should have never gotten involved with you," Edward told them. Before even Alice could reply, he turned and left out of the window after Jasper.

When Edward caught up to Jasper, they were in the field the family used for baseball. He had to tackle the blond to get him to stop running. There was a boom like thunder as the two vampires collided with one another. Hitting the ground, Edward pulled away only long enough to flip Jasper over beneath him so they faced each other. Jasper's expression was pained and depressed and Edward did not like the thoughts he could hear.
"Jazz I will never abandon you. I just broke it off with Bella. She deserved not to get pulled into our world. You deserve to be spoiled and pampered and loved openly. I'm tired of hiding, Jasper. I want to be with you no matter what. You know how I feel about you. You know I love you more than anything," Edward said, facing Jasper's fears and insecurities about their relationship head on.
Jasper let out a sob and reached up to embrace Edward. The sheer amount of love that poured off of the red head threatened to suffocate him. It always fascinated him to feel just how much Edward felt for him. Unable to make his voice work, Jasper knew that Edward could hear his thoughts. When his mate kissed him, he knew that everything would be okay.
