The atmosphere surrounding us was dour and the low cries of enemy pokémon ricocheted off the dungeon walls. This was not an ordinary dungeon used to hold captives, but a mystery dungeon. A series of ever-changing chambers, most of which were filled with jeopardy and only explored by intrepid professional exploration teams. However, in our case, my partner and I were rookies training in Wigglytuff's guild.
I stole a cursory glance at my partner who was meticulously scrutinizing the area in search of concealed enemies. He was an amicable and timid pikachu named Lítè. He often described me as a quiet and adroit chikorita and his impetus that prevented him from retrogressing to his old 'scaredy-cat' self. We had already completed a series of rescue missions and apprehended various crooks, as well as saved our world from being completely paralyzed.
Our mission sounded like any other to apprehend an outlaw. We had to travel to Oblivion Cave (A/N: This is a location I made up), go to the tenth floor, arrest Garchomp and take back the guildmaster's stolen treasure chest. The difficult part was that out success or failure would determine the fate of Treasure Town, or even the whole world. We finally found the staircase that would lead us to the outlaw, but a 'monster house' stood in our way. A vast number of rampardoses and staraptors appeared. Fortunately, a few of Lítè's 'discharge' attacks, and my 'razor leaf' attacks were enough to knock out the pokémon. We arrived at the tenth floor and sort-of came face-to-face with Garchomp.
Garchomp was truly a powerful pokémon. His speed and attack power made him difficult to beat. He almost defeated us with the powerful 'dragon pulse' attack he wielded, but our hoped did not waver. Launching our own powerful attacks and trusting in the opulent faith we had in each other, allowed us to achieve victory. We captured Garchomp, handed him over to Officer Magnezone, and obtained the guildmaster's treasure chest. However, the worst was not yet over.
The atmosphere outside of Oblivion Cave was even more perilous than when we left. The ground trembled with might, young pokémon wailed in fright, dark-grey clouds hovered in the air, and the end felt near. A screech of rage was heard from the guild.
"Don't worry, Anissa, we're almost there!" Lítè encouraged me as we tried to dodge the two-ton boulders which threatened to end our short lives.
We managed to reach our destination with the precious cargo safe, but at the price of being severely bruised and fatigued. Chatot carried the treasure chest to Wigglytuff, the guildmaster, and opened it before him. At once the destruction ceased and we were all enveloped in silence.
"YOOM-TAH!" Wigglytuff roared excitedly. The holocaust was finally over and Wigglytuff returned to his old benevolent self.
"Thank you for returning my perfect apples, Team ŠÁÏÑT!" Wigglytuff chanted while dancing around.
Lítè and I sighed, and retreated to our room.
"Now that was a narrow escape!" Lítè exclaimed.
