A classical, nay, canonic mercenary corps: The Hitmen for Hire was born out of the first call for assistance made by the Federated Commonwealth when clan Ghost Bear (amoung others) invaded, heading for Earth. The HFH began as a group of wealthy Battlemech pilots who wanted, more than anything to prove their prowess. These men funded the creation of a pseudo-military base on the resource satellite Thyrindra code named Black Sun. They named their forces The Star Alliance and began recruiting. The Star Alliance expanded rapidly as the reputation for their huge pay spread. Over a period of just a few months, the founders had pulled together a full galaxy of 'Mechs and pilots.
The first mission called in was to head to a planet called Strana Mechty to weed out an estimated four stars of clan Smoke Jaguar guerilla 'Mechs. The founders each lead one star of heavily outfitted Battlemechs of their own. By sheer number, the clanners were routed. But the situation became unstable as amoung the few casualties and wounded, it was discovered that all nine of the founders were no more.
