Note: Mai-Hime is an anime done by Sunrise. This story takes place in an alternate continuity, where Natsuki and Shizuru are superheroes.

Natsuki and Shizuru had been living in New York, for a few months and fought crime, while having the superhero personas, Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady. After one of Priceless Tony's henchmen used a mind-erasing spell, which made Natsuki forget about her previous superhero adventures. Because of that, Natsuki felt like she was on her first superhero adventure. Natsuki asked, "How do we look?"

Shizuru said, "Beautiful, especially you."

Natsuki replied, "Very flattering, but that's not what we meant. What I was trying to ask is, do we look like superheroes?"

Shizuru responded, "I don't know. It's a new experience and new experiences feel weird, at first."

Natsuki said, "Well, it doesn't matter what we look like. What matters is that we make a positive difference."

Shizuru replied, "Then let's go bring some heroic optimism, to America." She paused and asked, "Does that sound corny?"

Natsuki said, "I don't see what's corny about talking like a real superhero, which you are." Shizuru hugged Natsuki.

Natsuki looked at Shizuru and said, "Go across the room."

Shizuru jokingly asked, "Are we breaking up?"

Natsuki said, "No, I'm going to zap you."

Shizuru replied, "Wow, this sounds like an intense break-up. I'm starting to regret eating your deserts. I feared they would lead to this."

Natsuki said, "It isn't going to be a painful zap. I learned how to fly, but I've only learned how to give people flying abilities, for a single day. That should be enough time, for your first superhero mission. So, can I zap you?"

Shizuru replied, "I wasn't expecting to say this, but you can zap me." Natsuki used her magical powers to give Shizuru temporary flying. Natsuki and Shizuru, also known as Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady, flew out the window.

After the crime fighting was over, Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady returned to their apartment and started taking off their superhero costumes. Shizuru said, "That was quite the adventure."

Natsuki replied, "It was one of our most exciting fights. However, Bleakness seems like a stubborn. One of the main reasons for coming here was to inspire him. I was hoping we could make him realize that being a superhero is better than being an anti-hero." She sat on her bed and said, "Accomplishing my redemption goal seems harder than I could ever expected. Bleakness does more than take things too far. He endangers as many lives as Tony does. This country needs a real superhero."

Shizuru sat beside her and responded, "You're the superhero this country needs."

Natsuki shook her head and said, "No, this isn't even my country."

Shizuru replied, "This isn't about where you lived. It's about what you want to protect. You want to save as many people as possible and this country has the most people. That's the real reason you came here. Bleakness is a footnote of your plan. Your real plan is to be America's new superhero."

Natsuki had an amused look on her face, while saying, "You seem to know more about me than I do."

Shizuru nudged her and replied, "That's because you hide your real desires, from yourself. You're very secretive, but I know how to outsmart you."

Natsuki asked, "Really? You've become the smart one?"

Shizuru jokingly said, "I'm the brains and you're the beauty."

Natsuki replied, "I don't think so."

Shizuru said, "You won Japan's beauty contest, five years in a row, so that fact disagrees with your claim."

Natsuki replied, "I didn't even enter those beauty contests."

Shizuru smiled and said, "I voted for you two hundred times, each year."

Natsuki asked, "Why?"

Shizuru said, "I had too much free time and I like trolling superficial events."

Natsuki replied, "During our next crime fighting adventure, we'll have to be even more prepared."

Shizuru read a ripped up comic book, while asking, "Why? Since we already did superhero stuff, we should know what we're doing."

Natsuki replied, "Priceless Tony is known for being prepared, so he's going to have more goons. During our next fight, we're going to have to fight a lot more goons. It could be one of the biggest groups of antagonists, that we have ever fought."

Shizuru put her arm around her partner and asked, "Are you nervous?"

Natsuki said, "Yes and it's a very understandable emotion to have, considering what a big group of goons we'll have to fight, next time."

Shizuru had an amused look on her face, while saying, "Wow, Super Sorceress, the bravest woman in all of Japan, is scared by some thugs."

Natsuki replied, "You sure like teasing me, don't you?"

Shizuru grabbed another ripped up comic book, while saying, "I'm helping you."

Natsuki asked, "How do wisecracks help me?"

Shizuru said, "They brighten your mood, make you forget about the scariness and the bleakness."

Natsuki thought about it and replied, "I guess that's true. Bleakness has never had a sidekick. He's a solo menace, of anti-heroic madness."

Shizuru responded, "He sure is. That's why America needs you. Of course, nobody needs you more than me. You're the hero of my whole world."

Natsuki smiled and said, "Aww, you're the same for me. Well, we better rest up."

Shizuru replied, "I do love a good rest." The two superheroes changed into their pajamas, turned off the lights, and closed their eyes.

The next night, Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady burst into the building. They looked around and saw over one hundred goons. Super Sorceress nervously said, "This is more than I was expecting."

Ninja Lady replied, "Don't worry. This is a quality over quantity situation."

Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady's impressive progress was interrupted by Bleakness' arrival. Bleakness burst in and tried to eliminate goons. Super Sorceress had to take a break from fighting goons, so she could save some other goons from Bleakness' wrath.

Bleakness looked at her and said, "Either you're working for Tony or you're one of the dumbest superheroes of all time."

Super Sorceress replied, "You're the one who has dumb methods."

Bleakness sarcastically responded, "Getting rid of the criminals is such a dumb method of mine. I should be pushovers, like yourself, and just take them to police. That way they can break out, once every five episodes, and I can have a recurring rouges gallery."

Ninja Lady jokingly replied, "Sounds like you'd make a good lead for a superhero cartoon."

Bleakness responded, "Give me a break."

Super Sorceress started ignoring Bleakness and kept blasting the goons. Bleakness said, "Silly method of crimefighting. Plus, a simple blast isn't a big enough punishment."

Super Sorceress continued blasting goons, while saying, "They'll be sent to prison, so they can learn about their mistakes and eventually, lead a better life."

Bleakness pointed to her and replied, "You're of those overly optimistic, sweet type of superheroes. I've never been that fond of that."

Ninja Lady nudged him and said, "It seems like the only things you're fond of are eliminating morally ambiguous bad guys and doing corny brooding."

Bleakness punched her, to the ground, and said, "And I'm not fond of super punks, who don't watch what they say."

Super Sorceress saw what happened and her anger started rising. She said, "I'm not fond of pretentious jerks, who hurt my girlfriend." She blasted Bleakness out the window. Bleakness easily recovered from the hit, but he suffered the humiliation of falling into a dumpster.

Super Sorceress ran up to Ninja Lady and nervously asked, "Are you okay?"

Ninja Lady nervously replied, "Don't waste time, checking up on me, during a fight."

Super Sorceress realized that Ninja Lady was making a good suggestion. She cared about her loved ones' safety, that she often ignored her opponents, to make sure her loved ones were okay. The goons were hoping, that Super Sorceress' briefly exiting the fight, would help them, but the powerful superhero continued her fight. She blasted a dozen goons, at a time. A short time later, Ninja Lady joined in. She blasted two goons, at a time.

After ten minutes of blasting goons, there were almost one hundred goons left. Super Sorceress became so exhausted, that she needed a brief break. She spent a few seconds, taking some deep breathes. During that time, some of the goons started punching her. However, she quickly returned to the fight and proved to them who the cleaner winner of this fight was.

The only goons, that the two female superheroes hadn't fought yet, were some of Priceless Tony's laziest goons. They usually stayed out of the big fights and focused on robberies, instead of fight moves. One of them, named Colin, whispered, "I'm not going to get involved in this madness."

One of the other goons, named Tarrant, whispered, "But this is supposed to be one of Priceless Tony's most important missions. We can't let the boss down."

Colin replied, "Don't be an idiot. If we join the fight, that crazy sorceress is going to blast us, and we'll get arrested. Grab some of the boxes and run out. It's the only way to give this fight a dignified end." Colin, Tarrant, and a dozen other goons started taking the boxes.

Ninja Lady nudged Super Sorceress and said, "Check out the evil moving company."

Super Sorceress replied, "They're going to be moved to prison, after I move them across the room." She and Ninja Lady blasted the criminals.

The criminals got blasted across the room. Tarrant looked at Colin and said, "That was the most undignified end possible, so you're the idiot."

Colin replied, "I love robbing stuff, but I hate fights." He paused and said, "I guess that makes me an idiot, after all." The goons passed out.

Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady looked around the room and saw that the goons were passed out. Super Sorceress said, "We defeated three hundred goons."

Ninja Lady replied, "That's pretty job, for a second superhero mission."

Super Sorceress realized that she was accomplishing much more in America, than she did in Japan. She looked at Ninja Lady and said, "You knew that I should be fight crime in America, before I ever thought of it."

Ninja Lady jokingly responded, "Well, it is my job to be the smart one."

Super Sorceress said, "I want to keep fighting crime, in America. In Japan, we usually stopped five bad guys per week. In two days in America, we stopped over three hundred goons. I think this country is my destiny." She paused and said, "Well, it's my destiny. Of course I want you to join me, but I can't force you to move away from Japan."

Ninja Lady replied, "We're partners. I would fight crime with you anywhere. Plus, a change of scenery sounds exciting. You know how easily I get bored by going to the same places, so a new home to protect sounds wonderful. However, we'll have to move out of that apartment. You're rich and I'm not doing badly either, so we should get a real house."

Super Sorceress nodded and said, "Sounds good. So, we'll still be partners?"

Ninja Lady replied, "Always have been and we will always will be." The two superheroes shook hands, before giving each other a big hug.

Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady went outside. The police showed up and started arresting the thugs. The two female superheroes looked around and saw Bleakness. Bleakness wanted to complain about the way they fought crime, but he was embarrassed to be covered in garbage, so he snuck away.

Super Sorceress and Ninja Lady went to their apartment, changed into casual clothes, and turned on the news. Priceless Tony was being interviewed. He said, "I didn't hire those goons. They were probably hired by Bleakness, so he could frame away. It sounds like something he'd do. Go interview that garbage superhero."

Natsuki turned off the TV and replied, "What a pathetic scoundrel."

Shizuru responded, "That's how I'd describe Bleakness."

Natsuki said, "He's not fit to be a superhero. That's why we're going to keep on fighting crime. The world needs inspiration, optimism, and hope and I plan on giving out those things."

Shizuru replied, "We'll do it together." Ninja Lady let out a super loud yawn and said, "I'll need three hundred hours of sleep, because of tonight's mission." She kissed Super Sorceress' cheek and fell asleep, on the floor.

Natsuki rolled her eyes and tucked Shizuru into bed. She gently said, "Goodnight, old chum." Natsuki went to bed, feeling happier and more optimistic than ever before.
