"Lucy!" Lindsay laughed as her 11 month old daughter crawled toward the oatmeal she had just dumped on the floor and rolled around in it.

Lindsay scooped up Lucy and carried her to the bathroom and turned on the water. Lindsay turned so Lucy could see herself in the mirror. The baby's eyes met the reflection of Lindsay's and she squealed and said "Mmmmm!"

"Lindsay laughed, yes mama, say mama!" but Lucy had already turned her attention to the water, and she struggled to get out of Lindsay's constricting grasp.

"Hold on sweetie, lets get you out of these yucky clothes." Lindsay smiled. Lucy obediently held up her arms and allowed Lindsay to pull her yellow shirt off followed by the pink leggings Lindsay wished came in adult sizes.

Finally Lindsay put the squirming baby in the warm water and began to wash the oatmeal out of her hair.

"Water." Lindsay said splashing Lucy's chest lightly.

"Waaa!" Lucy said proudly.

"Wa-ter." Lindsay insisted and picked up a fish toy. "Fishy."

"Fi!" Lucy giggled, she liked this game.

"You are so stubborn!" Lindsay said throwing up her hands.

"Yeah, just like her mother." Came a thickly accented male voice from the door way.

"Daaa!" Lucy screeched and held out her arms to Danny.

He smiled and pulled her out of the water and cuddled her close, not caring at all that his shirt got soaked in the process. (Lindsay didn't mind either XD)

"She won't talk." Lindsay whined.

"She'll talk when she's good and ready." Danny said wrapping Lucy in a fluffy towel.

Once she was dry and dressed, they plopped her down in front of the TV watching Nick Jr. and went to make dinner.

Lindsay sank into a chair.

"What's up Montana?" Danny asked over the sound of the faucet where he was washing green beans.

"I don't know, I guess I was expecting her to be a miracle baby that talks and walks before all the others." Lindsay smiled weakly "But she's perfectly on track, I just want to hear her call me mommy."

"I know, I wanna be daddy too, but she's not gonna talk any sooner if you worry." Danny smiled and set the green beans down next to the chicken.

He walked over and picked Lucy up[ from where she was watching Dora. She struggled pointing at the TV "Daaa!" She whined.

"Dinner time peanut." Lindsay sang and put a small plate of food on her high chair.

"Allright, you'll never guess what happened in the lab today." Danny said sitting down.

"Ok, I give up, what?" Lindsay smiled at her husband.

"Well there was this piece of glass and I knew there had to be a print on it somewhere, so I tried this new fuming method and…"

"BOOM!" Lucy screeched spilling her dinner on the floor.

Danny and Lindsay both stopped with their forks half way to their mouths.

"Boom?" Lucy asked.

"Boom!" Danny said triumphantly.

"I'll call my parents! And yours!" Lindsay called from down the hall where she was already looking up numbers.

"Mac!" Danny said into his phone excitedly. "No, no everything's fine, Lucy said her first word!" He paused for a minute. "Boom." Suddenly he had to pull the phone away as the entire New York crime lab exploded laughing in his ear.

AN: based on this weeks episode where Lindsay made Danny stop saying boom out of fear it would be Lucy's first word.
