Kitana has trouble seeing the good and doesn't believe the war will end.
Kuai Liang P.O.V
Kitana was crying on the edge of the cliff. I frown and walk up to her to know what's wrong.
"Something wrong?" I ask.
"No…nothing" she says. I went closer to her and sat next to her.
"You can tell me" I said
"Grandmaster…I…."
"Tell…me it will make you feel better"
"I just miss the old days" she said "The days where everything is at peace"
"Same here"
"I wish we can all live together and get along with others" she said "But that will never happen"
"I believe it will"
"You're just saying that" she said
"No…" I said "We work every day to protect Earthrelm…and every day I have faith that the war would end"
"How…?" she asks.
"I know it's bad now…and everyone doesn't believe it will get better but you are going to have to wait…" I said "And then…maybe everything will be at peace"
"It's hard though…" she said
"I know it is…" I said "I still believe I can get my friend back"
I look towards the sky.
"I know he is out there fighting…" I said
"I'm sorry" she said. "But…everyone wants power…and wants to rule everything"
"I know…but there will be someone who can stop them"
"But…?"
"That's why we are here…to protect our home" I said.
"The revenants…will come and destroy everything…"
"I believe the revenant will be free from Quan Chi's control"
"Did you believe that I will be free" she asks.
"I believed everyone will be."
"Have you ever given up…?"
"I never will…" I said "Because I know there is something bright in life"
"Really…?" she smiles.
"Yes…You"
She blushes as she looks away.
"Grandmaster…" she whispers. "But…we won't know the future…maybe something big is coming"
"Right now we worry about the present…" I said "About now…about what is happening now"
"But…"
"Everything will be okay…" I said "Just wait and then you will see"
Kitana smiles as she looks at me. Kitana's eyes are beautiful along with her smile.
"You're right…" she said "I just need to have faith"
I nod and we look towards the sun. Kitana moves her hand to hold mine. I held it tight and smile. She leans and we kiss.
We release and she places her head on my shoulders. We stood like that for a while until she looks at me in the eye.
"Grandmaster…"
"Please…call me Kuai" I smile.
"Thank you…" she said "Now I know there is still a chance"
"We will fight for that chance together"
Kitana smiles then frown "What…if…you don't want to be with me?"
I gave her a look. "What…?"
"Everyone I worked with always end up leaving me…or worse…"
She starts saying different things I couldn't understand. I then kiss her. She settles down; I made look at me in the eyes.
"I won't ever leave you Kitana" I said "Will you stay with me…?"
Kitana smiles "Yes…I will"
I kiss her again. She hugs me tight.
"I know later on…we will live a happy life" I said.
"I believe that would happen" she said.
I stand up and help her up. We walk back to my palace. I know there is still war going on; the revenants from the Netherelms; the Outworld.
Soon we will have peace. I will fight alongside with Kitana. I will keep her safe; and never leave her.
"I know everything will be okay…" I whisper "Soon"
