Legendary Hero

It was a warm, summer night. Everything was quiet in the outskirts of Scion, the port town. Maybe living in a port town was the reason behind the bright light that glowed from the stars. They were brighter than everywhere else.

That was what the little blonde boy thought, staring at them with awe. Star-gazing had to be the only activity that made him stay quiet, as he was quite an over-active boy.

"Granny, where's Perseus?", the boy asked, anxiously. "I can't find it!"

His grandmother smiled. Pointing at a certain constellation, she said, "Over there. Can you see it now?"

The boy grasped. "Yes! I can see it crystal clear now!"

For a couple of seconds, he remained silent, staring at the constellation with devotion.

He really admired Perseus, even from the first story his Granny told him that rainy day, when he was dead bored inside his house. From that moment, he wanted to be like him. He also wanted to have exciting adventures, to battle against extraordinary enemies, to be remembered for generations…

What he liked the most was how he managed to defeat Medusa on his own. Could there be such a monster in the face of Palma? He wanted to know…

"Granny, can you tell me again how Perseus killed Medusa?", he begged, already knowing that his grandma must have been tired of telling that special story.

His grandma smiled again, caressing his blonde hair, while telling him, once again, how Perseus managed to avoid Medusa's gaze while carrying the Mirror Shield, and defeated her.

The boy enjoyed the story as if it was the first time he heard it. Without realizing, he smiled at the stars while his granny talked.

"Do you think that Perseus' equipment is scattered through Palma, Gran?"

"I don't know, honey", his grandma said, shrugging. "It's just a legend, after all…"

"When I grow up, I want to become an adventurer like him"

"I'm sure you'll make it, dear"

"I'll visit the places he saw… I'll even visit Medusa's place! I'll see places no one had ever seen, just like him!"

"I'm sure you'll do it, Odin, because you hardly ever stay quiet in one place", his grandma stated, giggling.

Odin smiled, daydreaming. Little did he know, or even imagined, that he would end up becoming a legend himself…

The End

Notes: Alright, a short fic for Odin... I first thought of it with Nero as the main character (poor lad, he deserves more love!), but then I realized that Odin would be more accurate. Besides, trying to imagine the big, musculous Odin as a child had been a funny thing to do. I hope you enjoyed this fic!

Notes after the revision: almost a year and a half took me to take a look at this, once again. Shame on me! I tried to do my best, but I couldn't correct much on this one… so if there's some wird punctuation towards the end, please point it out to me! Thanks!
