Daina stared down at her belly that had only just recently started to grow with the life developing inside of it.
She smiled and wondered if Alfred would get off work early as she counted the seconds in a way that she'd never recalled before.
It was wonderfully sweet of Alfred yet nearly unexpected that he'd changed his diet too; he'd gifted the alcohol that they'd still had in the house to some friends to avoid temptation and only ate what the doctors had recommended for Daina.
He even didn't mind the late night shopping trips whenever Daina had a craving for something that they didn't have in the house, and he always made sure to remind her how beautiful she was.
Daina hadn't really judged herself by her own body weight, her insecurities were over very different aspects of herself, yet he'd always made sure to remind her of how beautiful she was and how gorgeous her hair looked and her belly that was growing with the life inside of her.
She smiled more when she saw Alfred come home and savored the warmth of a kiss over top of her lips; Daina was more thankful than ever that she didn't get really angry while pregnant though she'd had her days of being so unbelievably sad.
Alfred curled closer to her, and she felt her heart beat in time with his before the flutter of their baby kicking had Alfred laughing in excitement and staring down at her belly in wonder.
Daina smiled and kissed his cheek and listened to every awestruck word that he muttered to their little girl as she grew from inside her mother's womb.
She leaned relaxed against his touch as he gingerly whispered to her pregnant belly and their darling girl that was inside of it.
Daina smiled at her husband as she relaxed under his gentle touch and longed for the day they'd get to meet her in person.
