The day I saw him, I knew he was no good.
Why was I such a fool? An evil cat such as him as deputy of my Clan.
Tigerkit. Tigerpaw. Tigerclaw. Then…Tigerstar. But not of ThunderClan. No, not leader of ThunderClan. He was exiled after trying to kill me. No, he was leader of ShadowClan.
Of course, he started as an innocent kit. All kits are innocent. But as an apprentice, during a battle, Tigerpaw seemed to...enjoy it. I was afraid. He was smothered in blood at the end and we thought he would die. But as we washed it off, there was not a single cut on the tom's body. He looked flawless. The blood was from other cats.
I should have listened to Fireheart. Yes. But that killed me, not listening.
Now, I'm in StarClan. Anyway, enough about my life and to the worst day ever for the forest…and the best.
Tigerstar glared into the cold, blue eyes of Scourge. I knew at that instant that Tigerstar wasn't probably going to make it through this. Other StarClan cats thought this was ridiculous. After all, he had nine lives! Though we regretted giving them to him, he still had them. Scourge unsheathed his long, curving claws. They glistened and stood out from the soft, damp earth. His claws seemed to be stained red with blood. Scourge leaped, hissing and snarling. Tigerstar tried to leap back.
And then it was slow motion.
Scourge ripped through what seemed like Tigerstar's very soul. Scarlet spattered the ground and Tigerstar fell. All nine lives…draining away. He writhed and squirmed, his paws uselessly trying to stop the blood. But there was no way! His stomach was wide open.
Then, he lay still. Cats jaws gaped, but one ShadowClan cat cheered.
Firestar looked the saddest. Why? One day I will ask him. But Fireheart was the most depressed of every cat in the battlefield.
