Disclaimer- HA! I wish.

AN- It's been ages since I wrote anything remotely PR related and this just popped up awhile back so here we go.

I Always Knew

Deep down, I always knew. How blind would you have to be not to know? The primary colors were a dead giveaway and you can only use the bathroom as an excuse before someone catches on. I had to give them credit for trying to be careful at not letting me catch on. But come on, they all run off and all of a sudden there's a robot battle at the X Games, come on no one's that dense.

I can't blame them for not telling me, identities stay a secret, civilians can never know, putting me at a risk if the enemy ever knew. So after they make a mad dash for the door I always turn the news on the tiny TV behind the counter, keeping one eye on the battle, fear gripping my heart. I never really breathe until I see them walk back in the store. Though I always gave them grief, it was mainly to hide my worrying.

I saw the final battle from a distance, and a part of me still couldn't believe that my good friends were Power Rangers. I'd always been proud of all of them, and I was even more proud of the sacrifice they made.

I managed to corner the four of them after all the chaos died down and Blake had left. "Where's Cam?"

"He's helping his dad enroll new students at the dojo."

I can't help but smile as they exchange a worried look before taking pity on them. "It's okay; I could help but see you losing your powers at the X Games. You really need to work on your excuses Dustin."

Dustin blushes slightly. "That obvious, huh Kel?"

"Yeah, a bit."

"How long have you known?" Tori asks.

"A while, I think I always knew, starting with Shane running out to that magnet monster. Then it was the colors and so forth."

"Smooth dude," Hunter smirks, slapping Shane on the shoulder. "So you know why we couldn't tell you right?"

"Yeah, to protect yourselves and me at the same time, I understand." I smile. "I'm proud of all of you."

Dustin grins and wraps me in a tight bear hug.

When we pull apart, he suddenly looks nervous. "Since we don't have our powers anymore… would we… would you, maybe… want to…" He fumbles, turning bright red.

I smile. "Are you trying to ask me out Dustin?"

"Um, yeah." He turns as dark as Hunter's crimson shirt.

"What took you so long?"

End

AN2- There we go, a light drabble to ease myself back into PR. This was also partly inspired by chapter six of Tsukino Akume's awesome "Fight to Keep You". If I plagiarized in anyway, I apologize in advance and will change it. So please drop a review. No flames please. Thanks!
