Prologue

Legend Of The Lunar Eclipse Curse

This curse dates back to when the elements of chaos were first discovered by MoonRiser WingShade, the Lunar Alicorn of the time. Eventually the spirit that resided in the elements possessed the Alicorn and used the body to meet it's own evil ends. By the time the elements of harmony were discovered MoonRiser was too far gone to be salvaged. His body was destroyed by the elements of harmony and his son Artimeus took on the responsibility of raising the moon. The elements of chaos were removed and peace was once again restored to Equestria. The elements of chaos though had a habit of creeping back up. Studies have shown that the elements of Chaos will corrupt any creature it comes in contact with. Solar and Lunar alicorns are especially receptive of this corruption, but more so the Lunar alicorn. At any sign of the return of these elements they are to be removed by Non-Solar-or-Lunar Alicorns immediately before the corruption begins...

... These were the words that King Lacus read before snapping the Book Of Legends closed.
He was glad that he had located the elements of chaos and trapped them in a moonrock sphere that had a perma ice core. He feared that if he hadn't gotten them removed that they would would corrupt him.
Or worse... Luna

In the night it was harder to see and the worst kind of creatures came out during that time. People working during the night just wouldn't work and while parents worked generally children played so by nighttime everyone grew tired. She also knew things would change over time... she just had to be patient.

When Luna reached her bedroom she was so tired that she collapsed on her bed and fell immediately to sleep. Her dreams filled with days of when people would finally appreciate her. As she slept on the sun rose and everypony began their day. In her sleep Luna drew her shades closed and turned over in her bed. She had been so unaware when she entered her room that she didn't notice the strange gems that had taken residence in her room...
