A/N: Hey :) My first attempt at writing Amy/11, I really love them as a couple and cant help but think that the Doctor needs Amy and could be falling for her :) The episode, 'The Beast Below' was one of my favourite episodes because I loved how Amy figured everything out before the Doctor... I dunno, the bit where she says 'you couldnt just watch children cry' really made me almost cry :'( Anywho, hope you enjoy :)

Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC .. obviously.

Gotcha.

She had seen it before, so long ago, as a child she had cried because she was scared, and this magical man, this indescribable, unbelievable man appeared and saved her. And then he went again.

She heard nothing of him for 12 years.

And then he came and saved her once again, saved the planet and then left her again.

He promised five minutes, she got 14 years.

Then one night he came, and he took her away, offered to show her all of time and space

He brought her to this very moment, this moment when she would return the favour, for the first time, and not for the only time.

But she would repay the favour and save him, save him from committing something which would tear him apart.

Taking the Queen's hand she pressed the button, she let the animal free, because she had figured it out.

She knew the reason why the Star Whale had came, she understood more than those around her, "the Star Whale didn't come like a miracle all those years ago, it volunteered, you didn't have to trap it, or torture it, that was all just you, it came because it couldn't stand to watch your children cry,' looking around she could see people didn't understand the way she did, 'what if you were really old, and really kind and alone? Your whole race dead; no future. What couldn't you do then? If you were that old, and that kind, and the very last of your kind,' she turned and she around and looked to the Time Lord behind her, '... you couldn't just stand there and watch children cry."

She now understood the beauty of what the Doctor had shown her, out in the wide universe there were so many creatures just so kind, and so old, wanting to be loved because they were lonely.

Looking out of Starship UK the Doctor still didn't know how Amy could have figured it out; he was still hurting and confused because of what he almost did.

Standing next to him she too stared out of Starship UK, 'amazing though don't you think, the Star Whale, all that pain and misery and loneliness, and it just made it kind."

"You couldn't have known how it would react."

"You couldn't,' she quipped, 'but I've seen it before, very old, and very kind, and the very, very last, sound a bit familiar?" She reassured him of their first meeting, he pulled her into a hug.

"Hey." She whispered to him.

"What?"

"Gotcha."

He smiled, 'gotcha."

:) All my love,
