This is a companion piece to Opposites. It would probably make more sense if you read that one first. This is in Nate's pov.

I have to admit; I was totally unprepared for this.
She is probably the most confident person I know. For her to be so unsure of herself that she has to go look for answers… It just doesn't seem possible.
Then again, a year ago I would've said that none of this was possible.
Life moves in mysterious ways.
Everything is changing constantly, moving in orbits that are incomprehensible to us. I think that her life resembled those orbits for so long; she doesn't know how to just stop. She doesn't know how to be one person.
Truthfully, I'm not sure if she can be one person. She's an actress, always taking on new roles. And I know she loves that, or she did, anyway.
So the question remains: Who is she?
Or more importantly: Who is she to me?
A more complicated question couldn't be asked. My team has become my family, an incredibly dysfunctional family, but a family none the less. So what does that make her? She's more than just a part of my team, more than a friend. But she isn't my lover.
Though, I do love her.
By all the common sense in the world, I shouldn't, but I do.
I want to say I know I always will, but I don't. If she changes, becomes a different person, will I still love her the same way? Will I not love her at all?
Again, it doesn't seem possible.
She can change her name, but she'll always be the same person to me. She will always be that crazy grifter I chased half way around Europe. The beautiful but surprisingly mischievous woman I unexpectedly became captivated by. The one who helped me get back on my feet when I fell and couldn't find the strength to get up.
Maybe she'll find that she doesn't need to change at all. Like I said…
Life moves in mysterious ways.
