America the beautiful,

Was once only a dream,

Borne in a mind,

And there it grew within.

A man not yet consumed with greed,

Let the people know,

The idea spread from mind to mind,

A longing to be free.

The people got what they wished,

After a long bloody war,

Few saw the flaws,

Problems they now have.

Most closed their eyes,

To the truth all around,

Can this be,

Our one fatal mistake?

Our world was once free,

And so, it shall never be again,

For corruption in the system,

And lies in everyone's head.

It was too great and far too quick,

Like our nearly forgoten roman friends,

Few still remeber,

What freedom really is.

Our chains are different now,

Far too hard to break,

Hope binds us to our country,

Fear binds us to our foe.

All our life is a wish,

A wish that we can change,

The corruption in our government,

Shall be what brings us down.

I live in hopes that we,

May not fall one dark day,

America, the beautiful,

Forever may it stay.
