The
storm raged as the two caped figures leapt from the roof as the
thieves left the building. A blood bank, the first figure thought as
the moved from the shadows and into the light of a nearby street
lamp. "When did blood become a commodity, Batman?"
The younger of the two said, gaining the attention of the "When we get done here, Robin, you're
spending two hours practicing stealth," the Caped Crusader said,
earning a groan from his young companion. "As for you two, i
suggest you put the blood back and give yourselves up," Robin
has a point, though, Batman thought. Why would a pair of thugs want
to steal from a Blood Bank? His query was soon answered as
the two thieves changed in front of their eyes, the faces creasing,
taking an almost demonic look as their eyes changed to a bronze-gold
hue, almost feral. "What the...?" Robin began as
the men attacked. Batman moved first, two batarangs flying through
the air, giving a small concussive explosion before actually hitting
them, which was a good thing as the... whatevers would have easily
dodged. "Focus, Robin," he ordered. "We'll
figure out what's happening after we've stopped them." Half
an hour before Gotham Central Bus Station The young
woman that stepped off the bus was enough to make even the Bat stop
and take notice, had he been there. Her tight leather pants showed
the curves of her body, matching jacket sitting over her Cotton
shirt, eyes as dark as her brown hair, scanning the shadows as if in
preparation of a fight, hands lightly touching the strap of the large
black bag on her back. She hailed a taxi, she threw the large
black bag and getting in without ceremony and asking to go to the
nearest blood bank. The driver looked at her like she was crazy for a
moment before shrugging. this was Gotham, home to a guy that ran
around dressed as a bat and freaks like the Joker. She wants a blood
bank, he can work with that. The stranger settled into the
backseat, checking her watch, and the Weapons in the black bag. If
everything went the way that freaky guy in the long cloak and the
weird hat said it would, she should show up just in time. Present Gotham Blood Bank Batman and Robin were fighting the
things, but there was no sign of them tiring.
"Damn, just Let
me kill them Batman" Robin said, the toll the fight had had on
him obvious by the strain in his voice.
"No Robin," the
Dark Knight Detective said. "We don't know what caused this.
They may just be innocent people that have been transformed by
something. Capture only, we may be able to help them if that's the
ca..."
His sentence was cut off by an arrow seemingly from
Nowhere penetrating deep into the heart of the first attacker.
"Somebodies got the right idea," Robin commented as a
second arrow lodged itself in the chest of the second thug.
"Huh,
weird," a voice said from the shadows, female. Batman scanned
the surrounds for the archer. "No dust? I know I hit the heart."
