The gentle pitter patter of rain pulled Molly out of a teary eyed, half-asleep trance. She lay awake in her and her husband's bed. Her thoughts never ceasing, and her eyes raw and scratchy with the remnants of spilled over tears. She didn't think she could last one more night without him by her side. She teared up more so when she thought of him in a cold white hospital room; alone. Arthur always shivered at night and Molly wished she would be awaken to his jitters, and walk sleepily over to the closet to retrieve him another blanket. On any normal night being awaken and doing this act would bother her but it wasn't a normal night; it hadn't been since December 18th. Now on December 23rd at 2:22am she would kill to have been awaken to her husband's jitters, shoving, or late night wants to bake.

Yes, bake.

Arthur rather enjoyed baking, though not as much as Molly. Actually, their first official 'fight' had been over baking. Molly remembered the details of that day preciously since her and Arthur rarely ever fought; and as she sat up straight in her bed and surveyed her surroundings once more, and recognized again the left side of the bed, as empty, her restless mind settled.

December 1950.

The Gryffindor Common Room.

Fire ablaze like the 2 red heads' hair, whom were the only ones left on the couch.

12:02am.

"I'm not speaking to you first!"

"Well, of course you aren't!" Molly spat back. "Mr perfect!" she mumbled under her breath.

"Okay! You know what Molly? You're such a...such a...such a..."

"Such a what? WHAT, Arthur?"

The young mans features softened...And the red fled from his cheeks.

"I cant come up with anything less than beautiful; Anything less than 'Mrs Perfect'"

He gently grazed her clenched fist with his sweaty fingers and she opened her hand so he could hold it close to his heart. He planted a small kiss across her knuckles and looked up at her from his kneeling position on the floor, to where she was sitting on the couch.

"I'll never leave you."

Her anger ran to the hills, then her features became lighter as well.

"And I'll never leave you."

After a kiss, they fell asleep. Molly knew then he'd never make her feel lonely; empty.

Molly dried her tears, and feeling empty, she fell asleep.
