A/N: This is the first time I'm writing stories for this site so reviews are welcomed.

It was another winter season for Arendelle. Snow was covering most of the ground but the townspeople could be seen milling here and there, minding their own business. The castle could be seen glowing in all its white glory as the sun shines its rays on it. By one of the windows, the queen of Arendelle could be seen looking out on the busy streets of her kingdom with her brows furrowed and her mouth forming a small pout.

"Elsa, will you stop looking out every five minutes? You know he's not going to be back until tonight." Anna said exasperatedly, throwing her hands in the air

"You don't know that, Anna. He and Sven could have decided to be back early from their trip." Elsa said, still trying to find the face of a certain Kristoff Bjorgman among the bustle of people in the town square.

"Elsa, you guys have been dating for a long time now. Surely, you can wait for him without acting like he isn't going to come back from you."

"You know a lot of things can happen when one is harvesting ice, Anna." Elsa said. Dozens of dangerous events that can happen to Kristoff whizzed through her head like a bullet but she clamped those ideas down before they took hold."

"Ugh, I hate waiting!" Elsa complained, banging her fists on the wall and sending ice creeping through the castle walls.

She and Kristoff had been a couple for about two years now. They started being one a few months after he and Anna broke up. It was quite mutual and both have agreed that they were better off as best friends rather than lovers. The news came as a surprise for Elsa but that didn't mean she wasn't delighted by it. In fact, she was rather overjoyed by it. She somehow gained affection for the ice harvester because of his love for all things ice. Given that she produces ice, the compliments he said everyday made her feel special. As the days passed by, she began to notice that she was developing some feelings for the man. At that time, she tried to shake it off, for having feelings for your sister's suitor is bad thing. She couldn't help but to steal glances once in a while though. She couldn't help it. She found him to be quite a handsome fellow.

She silently praised all the heavens above when her sister said that it's okay if she and Kristoff can try dating. She formally thanked Anna and gave her a hug, but the moment she reached her room, she basically squealed in delight and made her room a winter wonderland in the middle of summer. So far, she wouldn't change anything for the world in their relationship. All the hugs and kisses she received and gave made her happy and content in her life. For the first time in a long time, she felt satisfied with her life.

"You know what, Elsa? How about you join me entertain the children by the square this afternoon? It will surely keep your mind off Kristoff." Anna suggested, trying to calm her sister down.

"You know I can't do that, Anna." Elsa groaned "I have papers to look over in order to make the trade deal with that kingdom I told you about."

"Awww, please, Elsa!" Anna pleaded, making the most pitiable puppy eyes and interlocking her arms in a sort of prayer

"No! I have things to attend to." Elsa said

Anna looked at her for a moment before adding, "Kristoff might be there right now, returning from that 5 month trip to the Southern Isles…"

Elsa bit her lip. She got hooked there. She wanted to see Kristoff so badly that she was willing to cling to any idea about him being here in Arendelle. Close to her.

"I suppose the papers can wait until later tonight" Elsa sighed "I am feeling a little cooped up in here."

Anna grinned for she knew her sister couldn't resist the idea of seeing Kristoff again. At this time, she thinks that her sister will literally burst in tears if she sees Kristoff again here in Arendelle. Especially if you account for the surprise Kristoff has for her.

So they went to the town square. Elsa produced more snow to cover the ground to which the children used to build snow forts. While the game was on-going, she kept on glancing towards the crowd, hoping to see a familiar blonde. Suddenly, out of the blue, there he was. His big, burly frame was all she could see as he lugged his ice pick over his shoulder with an arm slung around Sven.

She immediately dropped all of what she was doing (a giant snowball dropped on the ground near her with a fwoosh) and rushed to him shouting, "KRISTOFF!" He snapped his towards the cry and smiled widely at her. Elsa was aware that tears were running down her cheeks but that seemed very trifling as of the moment, for all she could think about was rushing to Kristoff and kissing him with all the passion she could muster.

Finally, after what seemed like an hour to Elsa, they finally met in a sweet, chaste kiss on the middle of the town square drawing some awwww from the crowd. They separated shortly after and Elsa buried herself on his chest as she squeezed his muscular body towards her. She could hear him chuckling as he put his arms around her and engulfed her with warmth.

"I-I m-missed you. S-so so m-much" Elsa sniffled, letting the tears run down her cheeks. All her emotional stress was being all let out and she was certain that this overwhelming feeling will cause her to faint if she doesn't stop crying soon. Frost was beginning to cover the stone tiles by their feet but Elsa couldn't bring herself to stop it.

"I missed you too, Elsa. Sorry I've been gone so long" Kristoff chuckled, rubbing the back of Elsa "I assure you though that the trip will all be worth it." He shot Anna a look that Anna immediately understood as the "signal". She set off giggling to get Gerda and the others for they will certainly want to see this.

"W-what do y-you mean?" Elsa asked, raising her head to meet Kristoff's gaze

"First of all, I want to say that you look as beautiful as ever, Elsa. During the five months of my absence, I missed looking at you so much, so I just want to say that again." Kristoff said

Elsa felt herself blush at this and she looked down to avoid his gaze for a moment before smiling and replying, "Thanks, Kristoff."

"And," Kristoff continued "I do want you to know that I want to see that beauty every day of my life. I kind of didn't tell you the whole truth, Elsa, when I said that I was going near the Southern Isles to harvest ice. I was there because a fellow ice harvester said that they sell quite good things that the woman I love might want. You know what, they do sell such things." Kristoff, by this point, held Elsa's hands gingerly with his hands, rubbing circles on the back of her hand.

Elsa didn't know where Kristoff was going with this but she remained silent on his hold. Kristoff, she noticed, was getting redder by the minute, but she associated this with his shyness to speak to her after so long. She began to notice that Anna was nowhere to be found in their vicinity and that the townsfolk began encircling them.

"I bought you something. It's something I've wanted to give you for a long time now and finally, I can give it to you. Elsa, I love you and," he brings out a black velvet box with a gold ring in it. There was only a small stone in the ring but it was enough to make Elsa gasp in surprise and tear up once again. Kristoff continued, "Will you marry me?"

Elsa was speechless. She covered her hand with her mouth with tears flowing down her cheeks in streams. She could barely see Kristoff with her eyes and she had to alternate covering her mouth and wiping the tears. The immense joy was already overwhelming her to the point that she is beginning to feel faint again. But she fought the urge to do so and instead, she kissed Kristoff with all her might and passion. Kristoff was taken aback for a second before melting into the kiss and kissed Elsa back with the same need.

After a while, they broke up and smiled at each other.

"Yes," Elsa croaked, her voice cracking from the sudden tightness of her throat "I will marry you. I'll be happy to."

Elsa could hear Anna cheering and giggling from behind her and congratulating them on the proposal. She could also hear the thunderous applause of the kingdom's people. Most of all, she could hear and feel the fast heartbeat of her fiancé and that sound and feel is the one she focused on the most. She focused on it because it was his heart which she was happy to say she had. It was the heart he gave to her to keep and love and keep and love it she did, and she will continue doing so for eternity.

A light snow had begun to fall overhead; making the townspeople ooh and ahh but Elsa wasn't paying attention, for Kristoff had begun to slide the ring on her finger. She raised her hand in the air and examined the ring.

"It's beautiful." Elsa muttered, her smile never leaving her face

"Like you." Kristoff said playfully

Elsa slapped his chest and leaned against it, soaking up the warmth and comfort he always seems to bring to her.

Yes, she hated waiting but this wait was all worth it. He made it all worth it by making what she had been waiting for a long time finally come true and she admits that the wait produced memories she would not soon forget and memories that she will forever cherish.

And this time, she is willing to wait some more as long as it will bring more memories about the people dearest to her heart. Namely her people, Anna, her future family and her dearly beloved, Kristoff Bjorgman.
