Kairi belongs to antaurilover685 and I only own Rachel. All other characters belong to their respective owners. Also part of this story was inspired by "The Little Mermaid" television series, which belongs to Disney.

Part Of Both Worlds

Kairi was excited as she looked down at the water where she saw all the colorful coral and the sea plants. Rachel had recently been to one of the aquariums in one of the nearby towns and when the place closed down, it didn't know what to do with all the live coral and sea plants they had and Rachel had immediately offered to buy it and her uncles had chipped in to not only help her cover the cost of it, but they also helped Frankenstrike, Atomix, and Gutrot when they built a huge room under the Mansion for the new aquarium. It was just beside the To'kustar brothers quarters and the glass was very thick. It could have held a shark if there had been one in there.

The reason Rachel had bought the coral and sea plants from the aquarium was because they were beautiful and she couldn't stand to see something beautiful die. Now, the aquarium was well lit and looked stunning. Kairi was in her bathing suit and now looked at the rubber mermaid tail she had bought. It was a pretty aqua blue and sparkled. "I really hope this works," she said, slipping the tail on and getting in the water, holding on to the side for a moment and practicing moving her legs together as if she was a real mermaid. Once she felt confident enough, she let go of the side and tread water as she continued trying to swim with a tail.

"Kairi?" asked a familiar voice and she looked to see Goop watching her with both curiosity and concern. "What in the world are you doing?"

"Trying to be a mermaid," she said.

"You already are, with how much time you spend swimming," he lightly teased her.

She laughed. "You silly thing. I have to write a report on mermaids. Our teacher said she wanted us to write a report on mythical creatures and I chose mermaids since "The Little Mermaid" is one of my favorite movies," she said. "But I'm having a little trouble with this tail."

"I think I can help with that," he said, slipping in the water. "Also, I have something for you to test. It's an oxygen bubble helmet Frankenstrike has been working on and he was hoping you could take it on a test run."

"Sure," she said, letting him put the helmet in place and it disappeared, making her gasp.

"Don't worry, it goes invisible when in use," said Goop. "Now, about that tail, move your legs as if you're swinging on a swing set."

Kairi did as he told her and found it was easier now. "You want to join me?" she asked him.

He smiled and they held hands as they dove down into the clear water, the colors of the coral now much more vivid and the sea anemones looked brighter too along with the other plants. Here and there, some small fish moved about as Rachel had also picked up some fish for the new home aquarium as well. You could only see them when they came out, but they mostly stayed hidden, like how they would do in the wild.

Kairi was amazed. "Wow," she said, breathing in the clean air her invisible oxygen helmet was creating for her. "This is incredible!"

"Yes," said Goop in agreement, but Kairi didn't notice he was looking at her when he agreed with her as she was too caught up in the beauty of the water world around her.

They swam around a bit longer and suddenly Kairi felt playful and lightly tapped Goop's shoulder. "Tag, you it!" she said with a giggle and swam off quickly, able to swim faster now that she had had more practice with her mermaid tail.

Goop, who had been a little stunned, now laughed as his mind caught up with the fact that Kairi was being playful and had initiated a game of Tag. He now swam after her, searching for her.

Kairi was hiding in some false kelp plants that were huge and she watched Goop as he searched for her. She then swam out and playfully poked his sides, making him jump slightly as she laughed.

"Slowpoke," she teased and swam off, but this time, Goop caught her and slid part of his body around her upper body, pinning her arms to her sides as she laughed, her tail moving up and down which gave him a hint that she was struggling to get away by trying to kick her legs, but that was hard with a tail on.

"I'm afraid you're the slowpoke, Kairi," he said playfully as he let her go but then wrapped his arms around her stomach and began tickling her. She laughed and tried to swim away, but Goop kept pace with her as they both laughed and chased each other around the coral and the plants, tickling each other and laughing when they snuck up behind each other.

Finally feeling a bit tired from swimming and playing, Kairi swam to the surface and got out, sitting on the edge as she slipped the tail off and slipped of the oxygen helmet, which became visible again. Goop surfaced a moment later. "Tired?" he asked gently.

She nodded. "That was fun," she said. "I sometimes wish I could be a mermaid for real."

Goop moved closer to her and sat down beside her. "Like I said, you already are, Kairi. You're my mermaid," he said and gently pushed her down to lay flat, moving part of his body so that it was under her, so she was basically laying on a bed of slime. She didn't mind though as it was comfortable and Goop leaned down, kissing her on the mouth. She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss, giggling a little when he pushed his tongue in her mouth to give her a French kiss. They made out for a bit longer until they headed downstairs for lunch.

A few days later, Kairi came in the Mansion with a huge smile on her face and handed her report to Goop, who took it and saw the huge A+ at the top of the page. Smiling, he stood up and grabbed her, spinning her around a bit in happiness. "I'm so proud of you, Kairi," he said.

"Thanks," she said. "I couldn't have done it without you."

Chuckling, Goop pulled her into a French kiss. "I love you, my mermaid," he said as he kissed her again.

"My sea king," she said with a teasing smile, making him laugh as he rewarded her with another French kiss.
