Prompt 83: Picture TwentyOne and Prompt 62: Choose a quote

Quote: "Beyond the gates, beyond the blue; everyone is waiting."

The seven brothers were rarely all together at one time. The war and their separate lands saw to that. And when a brother or two saw another brother or two, the others were normally not there. To all, this was unwelcome, but not all of them were willing to admit that.

For Maedhros, he pretended that the distance didn't bother him, but sometimes it would become too much and a tear or two would slip through

For Maglor, he missed all of his family and was not afraid to openly admit it. He was the most fragile of all the Fëanorians. But don't take that to mean he was weak. Maglor was anything but weak

For Celegorm, he told everyone including himself that the only brother he needed was Curufin, but he innerly missed the rest. He would never admit it to anyone though, not even himself

For Curufin, he pretended not to care about anything, not even when his son disowned him, but Celegorm knows that is the most enormous lie any fëanorian has ever told. He still cries about it sometimes, though both he and Celegorm will deny it to the death

For Caranthir, he pretended to be dark, cold and unforgiving and he shoved everyone away, but it was only because he was afraid of getting hurt. No onee knew this though - not even his brothers - and he was all alone; always. No one knew, but he cried himself to sleep every night until he died

For Amrod and Amras, they were out too much for anyone to publically notice, but one would always know the other felt the same way as he did and missed their brothers. Twins are like that; sharing feelings

So, all of them secretly (or not so secretly) wished for their family to be reunited, but keep it to themselves. Because of that, the family remained divided for centuries as one by one, brother after brother was killed in kinslaying after kinslaying until only one remained.

And Maglor would wander forever after wondering forever if there was something he could've done differently to keep their family together and waiting. What for, he would never know

The whole quote is: "Beyond the gates, beyond the blue; everyone is waiting. I'll bet some don't even know what for. Maybe they're waiting because that's all they've ever known; waiting for something to happen...anything at all. Some are content, some are entirely discontent. Some love waiting because it gives them something to hang onto, something to keep the gears turning in their head. Some are tired of waiting because they don't know what's beyond the gates, but are still curious as to what's out there, they're still searching for something. Maybe some are so busy waiting, they forget what indescribable beauty is in front of them." -Adam Young
