Let Me Rest
Disclaimer: Not mine.
A/N: Sorry about the length but I'm new to writing for this show and I'm having a bit of trouble. Anyway, this story is a missing scene from "Ghost in the Machine". I found myself being called to write this. I hope you enjoy it.
"Are you insane?: John asked, staring at the replicator body that contained Elizabeth Weir's consciousness.
"It's the only way John," she said softly "Rodney's ready, I should go," she began to walk away.
"You don't have to go," John protested "You can finish what the others started and become human."
She turned and walked back to him. She stood her distance but the look on her face spoke volumes "I came here because I thought I could help the others. I never really wanted this for myself," she looked down "It's been a long journey John. I just want it to be over."
"But it doesn't have to be," John insisted "There has to be something-"
"No," she stopped him "I should have died last year. I wish I had," she breathed deeply, preparing to admit a truth she had tried to keep hidden "This last year has been like a living hell. I don't want to go on. At least let me do something useful before I go. Let me rid the galaxy of the rest of the Replicators for you." She turned around again, walking away from him.
As he watched her, there was not a doubt in his mind that she was, the real Elizabeth Weir.
