Mario and the FireYoshi

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Mario and his pet dinosaur, FireYoshi. One night as Mario was listening to the wind of his soul, and FireYoshi was waiting for morning to have broken, they heard a terrible thump! The noise made Mario jump!

Into the bitterblue they went to see what happened. "Oh, she has fallen!" cried Mario. "Follow me, FireYoshi!"

The fallen moon was stuck on the roof of an old deserted barn. Mario climbed up and tried to move it by pushing it as hard as he could.

"Mamma mia!" cried Mario. "It's rolling away!" And it was, rolling rapidly past the pines and onto the purple river.

"Quick! This stick will do the trick!" said Mario as he leaned over the bridge. But just as he was about to hold it still, "OWOWOWOWOWOW!" The clumsy FireYoshi slipped and fell flat on the moon; and he slowly floated away towards the dangerous waterfall.

As FireYoshi was about to meet certain doom, the moon stopped moving. It was stuck between the rocks, causing Mario to remark, "What luck it's stuck! Give me your hand and I'll pull you up." But he had spoken too soon, and the moon went drifting deep into the night, floating over the valleys and hills as Mario sang this song:

"Oh, I'm being followed by a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

And if I ever lose my hands

Lose my plough, lose my land

Yes, if I ever lose my hands

Oh if…

I won't have to work no more

And if I ever lose my eyes

If my colors all run dry

Yes if I ever lose my eyes

Oh if…

I won't have to cry no more

Oh, I'm being followed by a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

And if I ever lose my legs

I won't moan, and I won't beg

Yes if I ever lose my legs

Oh if…

I won't have to walk no more

And if I ever lose my mouth

All my teeth, north and south

Yes if I ever lose my mouth

Oh if…

I won't have to talk…

'Did it take long to find me?'

I asked the faithful light

'Did it take long to find me?

And are you gonna stay the night?'

I'm being followed by a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

Leapin' and hoppin' on a moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow

Moonshadow, moonshadow"

As he finished, the moon landed on a prickled red tree. Then out came five red Pidgits and Mario told them what had happened. The Pidgits picked up the moon with their beaks, and they flung it far into the starry sky. And then Mario and the FireYoshi said "Goodbye."
