Ninja Gaiden 1: Retold
This is my own spin on Ninja Gaiden 1. It doesn't have Ryu, an OC is the main character, and there's Soul Reapers in it as well. I don't own Ninja Gaiden or Bleach, just my OC.
Chapter 1: Way of a Hollow-Fiend Ninja
The evil Dark Dragon Blade, a legendary sword carved out of the bones of a black dragon. It brought plague and death to the world during the age of ancient myth. It has been sealed by those of the Dragon Lineage since the dawn of history because of its incredible capacity for evil, made possible by the souls of the vanquished black dragons that dwell within it. It is said that if the Blade's seal were to be broken it would gather the hatred and evil of mankind and confer it on the one who wields it, transforming him into the Devil Incarnate.
Murai's POV
The world of fiends and hollows has been twisted by forces for which none of us could control. The demonic energy of the fiends combined with the force of spirit energy has tested the will of both ninja and soul reaper for more than a decade now. It is still unclear how the two factions have joined forces, but it is clear that both ninja and soul reaper refuse to align their forces together.
Now, an abomination to both soul reapers and ninjas has been manifested. A sickening hybrid of both fiend and hollow, but it broke away from fiends and hollows and wishes to train in the way of the ninja. A hybrid of the two that possesses a blade made of spirit energy and fiend energy. His skill is impressive, but it will take more than determination to reach me.
This, thing, calls itself String. I wonder why, but there is no time to wonder about that. He will be an interesting challenge, if he can make it to my dojo.
String's POV
It looks like an easy kill from up here. I jump and draw my sword on the unsuspecting ninja. There goes one now that just leaves all the others to worry about.
I put my blade back in my scabbard and looked up at the mountain side. It looked a lot more different than what I thought it would look like. Oh well, time to prove that I'm more than a freak mistake on 'natures' part.
I don't really know much on Mr. Murai other than what I was told by the Hayabusa villagers. He's supposed to be some sort of master on the ways of a ninja and lethal combat. I hope so, I really need practice, and since not a single soul reaper will train me on controlling spirit energy, I might as well work on my fiend powers and ninja skills.
General POV
The young hybrid looked up toward the mountain, his blue and black short hair was moving with the wind. His clothes made him look more like a simple child than a trained monster. He had on a tight white and blue sweater and had pants that matched his hair.
As the young boy starts his climb toward Murai, a kunai struck the wall next to him, but the kunai had a note attached to it. He looked at the note with his piercing blue and black eyes.
He read that he needs to use his surroundings and skills to defeat his enemies and proceed through.
"Well that was very specific." String said to himself.
This didn't seem to make sense to him as he started to climb the mountain-side and was ambushed by two ninja white-clad ninjas. String took his sword, a short purple blade on a blue handle, and made short work of the two.
Another kunai struck the wall next to him and he read it. It said that he needs to utilize all his ninja skills to traverse through. With that, String took a running start and did a wall run to the other side.
"I don't know who keeps throwin me these messages," String started when he landed, "but at least they're there to help me rather than to stop me."
String proceeded through the mountain entrance and made his way up to a vertical entrance way. Two more ninjas came out of the entrance and started to attack him, but String made short work of them as well.
String then proceeded up and found the entrance to the fort. He analyzed it for a second then proceeded inside.
After entering several doors and being ambushed several times, String made his way to a grand door that led to the final area in the fort. Unfortunately it was locked from his side.
"Maybe that samurai statue in the other room has the key for the door." String said to himself.
He went down back into the room he was ambushed in, but this time he fell down a trap door. He checked his surroundings and ran for daylight.
"Man, I hate bein in dark caves." He said to himself once he was back outside.
He continued on his way back toward the samurai statue when something caught his dark blue eyes. It looked like some sort of teeth that were pulled out of something's mouth. String thought for a second and then suddenly remembered that the statue didn't have any teeth at all. He picked up the teeth and made his way up to another group of ninjas.
"Man you guys are more annoying than a weak hollow." String insulted while he pulled out his blade. He made short work of the two and made his way to the samurai statue again. He placed the teeth inside the statues mouth and it released the key to the last room.
String grabbed the key and went back up to the locked door. Once he used the key and went inside of the room, the doors closed and were gated off. Suddenly, four ninjas in white dropped from the ceiling and began to attack String. They weren't like the other ninja that String had been making quick work of before, they were better trained, and they had shurikens.
String used his short sword to deflect the incoming shurikens and he began to fight the four. They were clearly more superior to him in terms of his ninja skill, but they did not expect what he'd do next.
String's eyes started to glow and he moved so fast between the four ninjas. Once he made it to the sliding doors, the four ninja's heads all fell off their shoulders.
He had a look of disappointment in his eyes as he stared at the sliding door. He took a deep breath and went inside.
"Ahh, I see you have made it." The man on the floor said as he rose up. He grabbed his nunchaku and held it front of the hybrid boy in a fighting stance. Once that happened, String wasted no time drawing his sword and taking his own stance. Murai looked at him for a few seconds and then began to demonstrate to String his skill with the nunchaku. String was in awe of Murai's skill, but that didn't draw his focus away from the task at hand.
Once Murai was done showing his skill, the two slowly moved toward each other. When they were only a few feet away, they started to attack each other. Murai had the advantage with his quick reflexes and his incredible speed, but this didn't stop String from putting up a heavy fight. Murai knew almost every counter to all of String's attacks, and he was showing no mercy toward the hybrid child.
After a hard fought match, and nearly landing a killing blow to Murai, both of them stopped and bowed to one another.
At the bottom of the mountain
At a narrow entrance toward the mountain was an entrance way of some kind. Suddenly, they opened and a girl in a purple outfit and wearing a hood ran through.
"I must inform master Murai." She said to herself as she started the climb up the mountain.
Back at the dojo
Both String and Murai sat in front of each other with their weapons at the side of them.
"I'm impressed with that small sword having such power." Murai said as he pointed at Strings short purple blade.
"Thanks." String started while grabbing his sword and scabbard. "I don't really know much on it other than it's supposed to be a fiend based weapon of some sorts. I really haven't figured it out yet, so yeah."
He put his blade down next to him and began to lean back in a relaxed state.
"Someday you will know the pursuit of power hybrid. Perhaps beginning with your training her. And what of the Hayabusa clan, have they started to fully trust you yet?"
"Nope. They still don't trust me because I'm a hybrid, even though I've been with them for three years now." String sat up while saying those words.
"Does the clan leader allow you to even help in protecting the Dark Dragon?"
"Nah, that blade is under everyone else's protection. But they make sure that it's untouched and its dark power sealed."
"It is shame that such a sword must go untouched. Such power unused." Those last words had a tone of greed in them. "Alas, I am not of the Dragon Lineage, the sword is not of my concern."
Suddenly, the girl from earlier made her way up to the dojo and started to deliver a message.
"Master Murai," she entered, "the Hayabusa village." She stopped once she noticed String sitting in front of her master. "Master String." She said hesitantly.
String stood up and looked out of the blinds to where the village was, and in the distance, he saw smoke.
This is my first crossover story. It will be going off of the actual games chapters and there will be hollows and soul reapers coming in some later chapters. Review for more and as always, PEACE.
