Just watch out for the nargles
Neville stared for a moment at the wreckage of Hogwarts. What was once a majestic, beautiful castle was reduced to rubble, with exausted, beaten people scattered around.
He wasn't as broken as some people. So many had died, but Neville felt a strong victory in his heart. He was alive, his friends were alive, Voldemort was gone. That's all that seemed to matter.
He sighed and went to join Luna.
Luna also felt some sense of grim satisfaction. It was an unusual feeling; for Luna almost nothing was grim.
But the war was over. Like any war, there was victory and sadness. Feelings swept around her like waves, tossing her heart about, as if it were a rock.
Then she gazed at Neville. She wondered why he seemed to be the only thing that made sense, when everthing was so messed up.
He walked over slowly, his eyes fixed on hers. They stayed looking at each other for a while before either spoke.
"How are you?"
Luna swallowed and nodded. "I'm okay. You?"
"I'm fine. Apart from a few minor injuries."
"Well, just watch out for the nargles, then."
Neville raised an eyebrow. "Good thing I can make enough sense for the both of us."
He leaned forward and kissed her, softly. She put her arms around him. They stood in the aftermath of a war, feeling like the only people in the world.
Ginny was staring at them like they'd gone mad.
Just some Neville/Luna. Hope you enjoyed.
That girl on the windowsill. X
