Gulping down the sick in my throat, I adjusted my dark chocolate brown tie. Yeah, I know, who would wear an ugly brown tie in this universe? Apparently, me, and one thousand other people in this school. High School. Wow. Never knew the day would finally come. Oh yeah, my name's Lulu. Lulu Derrison. A medium - sort of - weight, ugly, brown little cat. Well, I wouldn't say little. I'm tall... sort of. My primary school was total stupidity wrapped up with nice teachers in a building. Don't call me depressing - you don't know anything about me. If we move back in time, you'll know about me, and how I became so darn sad.
Flashback: One Year ago
Year 6! With a bundle of optimism, I bounded into the classroom. My teacher, Mr Totter, blinked through his glasses and greeted the class with a smile. I glanced at Olly. Don't say ANYTHING! I just happened to have a major crush on him. His goofy smile, lovely orangey fur and piercing blue eyes were enough to make anyone faint. He didn't notice me, but then again, I guess I didn't know him well enough. Mr Totter put people into their places... and I was put on a table full of sad boys (not all boys are sad, like i.e. Olly, but the people on my table were). I greeted the only other girl on my table, Kit, a pretty light blue cat with a lovely laugh. Then, when I noticed that Olly was sitting on my table, my heart nearly skipped a beat. He grinned mischieviously at me, and I smiled. This Year would be awesome!
3 months later...
I stood in the chilly winter weather outside the portakabin. I'm stuck in after school club by the way, and, luck struck me like lightning. Olly had joined and I was watching him play football. I was standing next to one of the playworkers, a tall mouse named Tina. She was new, and like all other new playworkers, sort of quiet. Olly kicked the ball at me, and I stopped it with my foot, smiling again.
"Do you play football?" he asked. I shook my head, not knowing what to say.
"Well, no. I really don't like it -" I was interrupted with the noise of Sienna, a pretty narked dog, calling me. I rolled my eyes and yelled back at her, saying I wasn't coming.
"Why aren't you going to her?" the orange cat said, raising his eyebrows.
"Because, well, I don't like her. I'm not someone who wants to prance around in fancy dress to all the latest pop music while dirty dancing, thanks for asking." He grinned and kicked the ball really hard into the net.
"You really are an interesting cat. You got Toonbook?" I shook my head once again. "Neither have I, but when we get it, add me, okay?" I blushed and nodded. Yay! He said he wanted to join me on Toonbook!
We became good friends, but when I said to a friend of mine (yeah, I said it to Sienna) the big mouth told everyone and we didn't talk to each other that often. Then, when we were doing Alice in Wonderland, I got the part of the Queen of Hearts, and Olly got the part of the King. I never heard the end of that. He asked me for my email address on the last day, and my heart fluttered when I gave it to him. In the holdays he was rude and obnoxious when I sent my first email to him. Then he just ignored me. I hate him now.
Back to reality. Now you know why I'm really upset? Yeah, you do now. That little son of a beach. When I walked into the hall, I was greeted by the familiar face of Kathy and Primrose, two girls I'd met on my induction day. They smiled at me and made room for me to sit down while we talked about how unprepared we are for the first day of school. How lovely, eh? Primrose fluttered her eyelashes at a dog who was walking by, and the dog blushed a deep scarlet.
"Player," Kathy muttered. All three of us grinned.
